Correct. In fact, Crysis was basically that same situation too. People would try to scrounge something together for $1000+ that could play the game at "almost 60Hz" with a 1050p resolution on High or something...and that was accepted. It honestly wasn't until the GTX 580 and HD 6970 that you could really play the game well, and even then I'd argue the 7970 is what finally maxed that thing out at 1080p60 Extreme 5 years after it came out lol

Moore's Law Is Dead

I'm not old enough to have experienced it myself but gaming in the early 90s seems to be even more extreme of an example of how much better things are today. Reading about them today for games like Wing Commander or Ultima 7 it was expected that you couldn't play them with the highest settings on the hardware at the time of release and had to wait a generation or two to max out settings.

Great stuff here. However, you two speak of Reddit in the past tense as giving bad advice. Nope! Reddit is worse than ever IMO. The sheer amount of users and the sheer amount of ignorance just keeps growing daily. I don't really trust Reddit for much of anything...lol. Thanks guys!
