In this one we did get some more comedic moments, and it was interesting to learn more about the Fire Nation and how they operate. Great start to the last season so far!

I think the subtitles are working again in this video, but please let me know if there are any issues.

As Zuko said in the Beach episode. "I am angry at myself." He is projecting that Anger at Iroh in this moment, but Zuko feels hurt because of it. I think Iroh knew that. He felt sorry for Zuko in that moment.

Please don't be afraid to share what you're thinking even if it makes some people angry. Your honest reaction is one of the reasons why I enjoy your content.

Zuko is trying to convince himself what he did in Ba Sing Se was right by yelling at Iroh. Without Iroh's guide, Zuko's toxic thinking shows up. He doesn't know how to deal with difficult feelings other than getting angry. He doesn't think things through he just does it just like how he sent that big scary looking guy after Aang. He's completely lost without Iroh's help.

After hearing you both talked about individuality and being yourself in this episode, I only now realised how Aang is always being himself in a setting where kids can be influenced by peer pressure, bullies, etc. And the school kids really admire him! Aang's character really shines in this episode for me.

Another double shoulder shimmy ... encouraging. When I first watched it this episode it struck me as an homage to the movie Footloose with a brief, light-hearted detour into Children of the Corn there towards the end. It has a good dose of levity which was really needed after that season opener. But it also sows some pretty important seeds.

This is one of my favorite episodes. I grew up in a cult and propaganda and brainwashing are an interest of mine. People think it looks like Ba SIng Se but it ACTUALLY looks like what's happening there in the fire nation. You see it again in Ember Island Players, one of my top three episodes. Real brainwashing is very subtle. Why I like Brave New World better than 1984. It's harder to control people with aggression. People want to feel a part of something, people want to be good and do good so you have to twist what that means in people's minds.

Also, I actually believe Iroh's place in Book 3 didn't change much because of Mako's death. So it kind of worked out pretty well.

My favorite light episode. I think the comedy is on FIRE.

I love this episode. Aangs dance moves were amazing and Sokka always brings some levity to the show. πŸ™‚ I’m glad that Iroh reacted how he did to Zuko.

Thank you very much for your reactions guys! I liked how they showed the propaganda of the Fire Nation schools (like calling the genocide of the Air Nomads "a war", etc). It really helps Aang I think, after his perception of the Fire Nation in what happened in the past couple episodes definitely could make him think they aren't worthy of being saved, only defeated.
