The Vampire Queen - How I Became The Worlds Last Boss: Chapter 23

Celestia

Looking down from my high perch on top of Astarot, I can’t help but have a big smile at such a huge response from Trothia. What is their goal for coming out here this quickly? Shouldn’t they have summoned the heroes first and trained them before trying something like this? Even from this far into the air, I can see Caroline’s sorry state. She must be miserable. I’m sure Astarot’s true size is also baffling to them; he was showing a much smaller version of himself this past week.

“Rhea, I don’t want you to kill Caroline immediately. I prefer it if she lives in pain for awhile, so just leave her near death, alright?” I ask my cute little yandere next to me; she looks super pumped up for this. Viciousness is oozing out of her appearance as her primal instincts are on full display.

You know, I’ve never once craved blood since I’ve awakened into a vampire. Do I actually need it to survive? Maybe it’s because of the angelic side of my body and the introduction of creation magic into my bloodstream. Having both light and dark in one body already should be against the laws of rationality. So, I guess I just have a really weird constitution. On the other hand, I don’t even really get hungry. But food does still taste good.

“Of course, Tia, I just want to break her for all those things she’s done to you in the past. Getting a chance to actually see her has gotten my blood pumping. I want to go rip her apart!” Her fierce reaction to my question warms my heart, as nothing she does can actually make me look at her in a negative way.

For this purpose, I gently grab onto her hand and hold it tightly. She instantly composes herself right back into the sweet and kind Rhea I see every day. I’m her greatest trigger, whether for good or evil. I’m not that far off from having similar emotions, but I feel hers is a little bit more fanatical, almost as if she worships me as her god. We will be ascending to that level someday, so it should be okay, right?

“You’ll get your chance.” I give her a bright smile as I kiss her on the cheek. “Do your best out there, or maybe I should say, do your worst?” As if a switch has been triggered, Rhea snaps into action. She’s very easy to provoke into an act of intimacy as she kisses me all over my face, with most of her emphasis on my lips.

It’s turned into one of my favorite pastimes to see how little I need to push to get this type of reaction. Let me tell you, it never takes much. This will most likely cause her possessiveness to bloom even further, but why do I even care? I like her reacting this way and will caution her if she ever crosses the line. How far that line is, I don’t really know. Something only my future self can find out.

All hands are on deck for this little show we're about to put on. I want to really scare these people and have some survivors go tell the king. Honestly, is this a good idea? Probably not, but it would be the most entertaining. Living a fantasy I've only read about in books. My power and the fact that my mother is a goddess are probably going to my head. But what could actually go wrong? There's always the ruby my mom gave me in case anything gets out of control.

“Let’s go have some fun." I grab Rhea’s hand, and we both jump off Astarot as all four of our wings extend out on full display for all to see. We soar down with a boom that echoes all around as we descend on our awaiting audience. We’re probably a good twenty thousand feet in the air.

I put a bit too much magic into my wings, resulting in a huge burst of speed—not something I was expecting. As I soar at high speed towards the ground, I am not fully in control of my body. My approach was coming way too damn fast. I only had a matter of a few seconds to decide on some way of not looking like a complete fool by crashing face first into the ground.

That’s when Rhea’s warm and comforting barrier magic activated, surrounding my body. At the same time, a powerful updraft of wind came from below, slowing my fall greatly. It must have been Mila. With that, I was able to target my landing with a flip, smashing into the ground about thirty feet away from the army’s location and creating a decent-sized crater. Of course, it was the hero’s landing; what else would it be? Nailed it!

My eyes dart up as they lock right on Caroline, who was looking at me with the most surprised expression I’ve ever seen on someone. Her mouth was wide open, and her eyes were as huge as an anime girl. After staring down the enemy for a few seconds, Rhea lands right next to me with a much more controlled descent.

"Tia, you really have to be careful; we’ve only been flying for about a week now.” Rhea is giving me the stink eye, as I just did something too reckless, trying to look cool.

“I’m sorry, Rhea, but I was just too excited to do my first hero’s landing and got way ahead of myself. I will be a lot more careful in the future, but I can’t make any promises.” I stuck out my tongue, but at the same time I made a mental note not to do anything like this again without better practice.

“As long as you know, you have to be careful! Also, what’s a hero’s landing?” Rhea scratched her head, probably never hearing that term used before.

“I will explain it to you later; it’s something from my other world, and I would have to tell you what a movie is before I could give a good explanation. Some entertainment is something we have to look into in the future, but anyway, let’s get down to business.” Rhea gave me a nod as her face went stone cold, and she looked towards her target.

I’m sure everyone here is completely flabbergasted by both of our appearances, and with that kind of entrance, everyone is completely floored to the ground. We’re not hiding any of our features, as we both still have our two angels and demon wings out. All five spirit beasts leap onto the scene as Astarot, in his full size, smashes down into the lake behind us. Hieko, Mila, is to my right, and Rollo, Onyx, is on my left.

All of them were full-size, and I’m sure the fear they were creating was out of this world among the enemy soldiers. I couldn’t help but get a little emotional, as this was one of the best moments of my life because of the pure epicness of it. All five of them give off their most intimidating roars, and pretty much every person on the other side hits the floor in utter terror.

I guess this is why they gave them the nickname Terrors. I laugh to myself. Giving them a better name in the future is still on my to-do list because I still feel its lame but at the same time effective. Maybe someday I will not cringe at the name terror and just accept it.

Putting my hand up in the air, four out of the five shrank down to a more presentable size, except for Astarot, who was just chilling in the lake as if he had no worries in the world. I create a large, lavished couch—the best one I could come up with from my memory. Rhea and I both sit down, with Hieko jumping onto my lap. Of course, I start petting her instantly, with a grumbling Rhea next to me.

I lean my body against Rhea, and that seems to do the trick as she calms down a little. We watch on as the enemy soldiers get themselves off the ground after our spectacular entrance. Mila and Rollo are on each side of the couch, acting like gargoyle statues, unmoving with a serious expression. Onyx stood behind us with what I could only expect: a goofy smile as he was chuckling at the troops.

"Astarot, make sure no one can escape.” I tilt my head towards the dragon, enjoying his soak.

‘Sure thing, master, I will have my underlings show you what they're made of, as their alpha is the strongest of them all!’ With that, about one hundred dragons descended on the opposite side of the enemy troops and blasted ice magic with a roar, creating a massive ice wall. Now they were completely trapped, without any way to escape.

My eye’s stayed on Caroline most of the time, and with the faces she kept making, I can only assume what kind of insane idea is going through that head. Will she bow before me? Try to force me to do her bidding. As crazy as that sounds, it’s within her most likely response. Maybe ask to join me. With her personality, I highly doubt she will just give up.

I motion with my finger at Caroline and Viscount Caldworth to come forward. “If anyone besides these two moves, kill them.” I command. They still have way too many forces, and it would be annoying to try to keep them all in line. It’s much better to shrink their number even more if they won’t stay still and silent. In my old life, I would have such massive stage fright at talking in front of this many people, but right now I feel calm.

Both of them move forward, as some soldiers follow along. I understand these soldiers are probably just doing their job, but seriously, read the room. With a signal, Onyx put himself in between the enemy army and the two I called forward. Like a massive flesh wall, no one dares to try to bypass it.

‘Big sister only called for these two humans; if any of you move, I will smash you.’ After those words, Onyx slams his chest like a drum as he lets out a ferocious roar to get his point across.

Looking over at Rhea as our two current nemeses of this life move towards us, she has a very solemn look across her face. She’s gone through even more than me, dying a total of four times. I’m assuming most of those were this man’s fault. I clasp Rhea’s hand with mine in the lovers hold, making sure to give her all the support she will need. But I assume I will be doing most of the talking here. She’s normally pretty quiet, even with the spirit beasts. Rhea is the most talkative when directly speaking with me.

As Caroline and Viscount Caldworth got about ten feet away from us, they both came to a complete stop. A slight tremble was present on both of their bodies as they looked around at their current surroundings.

“So... Caroline, long time no see, you look well.” I give a slight smile as Rhea giggles next to me. Caroline was a wreck, with her clothes completely ruined and walking around with extremely dirty feet. I couldn’t even tell she had white skin under the muck of dirt stuck to the bottom of her soles.

“Ha-ha, very funny; no thanks to you.” Caroline sneered at me. Her pride is still too damn high. Multiple growls and grumbles at her words as she takes a few steps back at my beast’s actions.

“You should be very careful; you’re one wrong move away from losing your life. It’s time to use that head of yours, Caroline, and think for a change. I understand you never use that part of your body, but you know, at some point you have to." I gave her a cheeky smile, triggering her inner bitch and noble pride.

“Do you feel proud of yourself, Celestia? Our brother lost his head because of you.” She crossed her arms, as if she just got me. I couldn’t help but break into a loud laugh.

“Ha-ha, Caroline, you’re too much.” This idiot still has no idea we’re not even related. I don’t even have a father in the first place, and this brother is of no consequence to me. “What makes you think I would even care?”

“If I don’t get you to come back, the king will send our father to the guillotine. Do you also want to have our father’s blood on your hands?” She screamed to get her point clearly across. Caroline keeps emphasizing both of us every time she refers to that disgusting man.

“What father? The one who sat there in ignorance of my abuse? There were multiple times in my memories where he would watch on as I was harassed by you and your bitch of a mother.” I could feel my destruction magic acting up as my aura was starting to become crimson. “Why the hell should I feel guilty for any of you?”

Startled by my words and appearance, Caroline shrunk back a bit as Rhea tried to console me with her magic. This bitch seriously only thinks about herself, and I bet she doesn’t even truly care about that man’s life.

“Can we just calm down and talk about this rationally?” The man I wanted to hear the least from blurted out something useless. It was Viscount Caldworth. Trying really hard to save his own ass.

“You…” I point at the man. “Shut the hell up!” With a small burst from my finger, a destruction ball hit his lower stomach, sending him flying back a good fifty feet, slamming into his waiting soldiers. I probably didn’t put enough in that to kill him, but if he did die, so be it.

Rhea gave me a reassuring smile, as she didn’t even bat an eye at her father being abused in this way. Bonding time over revenge—what could be better?

“Shall we get back to it, as the annoyance has left us?” I look at her with a sharp gaze. “That man you call father has no relation to me.” Leaning back on the couch, I sit there and wait for her response.

“Umm, what? That can’t be right. I thought your mother, the maid, slept with our father.” She looked completely dumbfounded.

“Hieko, can you show her what you did on the night my mother disappeared?” My eyes glanced over at Hieko, hoping to get her to reenact the scene of my mother’s supposed murder with her magic.

‘No problem, master; watch carefully, disgraceful girl.’ Hieko snarled at Caroline before putting on the show, still sitting in my lap as my comfort animal.

After a five-minute scene where it showed my mom dying from a supposed plot by Caroline’s mother, the body of the maid just disappeared into thin air. Caroline’s face looked very conflicted, not really understanding the situation.

“This shows the night of my mother’s supposed death; Hieko here used her magic to feign her death.” I paused to let her take in all the information. “The birth was also faked in the same way. My mother would never actually lay with a bastard like your father. She’s far better than anyone who lives on this planet.”

“So, what does any of that even mean?” It seems like Caroline still doesn’t get it.

“It means I have no relation to you whatsoever, and anything that happens to your family might as well be dirt under my shoe because I couldn't care less.” Staring her down, I contemplate if I should reveal who my mother actually is, but honestly, what does it even matter? She won’t be going back to the Trothia Kingdom. “My mother is an all-powerful being that stands above this world.”

“What? Like a god? You’re kidding, right? What kind of fantasy have you been reading? Maybe that new drug I’ve been hearing about?” Caroline laughs lightly. What I’m assuming is that she thinks my words are misguided.

“Misguided, huh?” I stand up from the couch, releasing my hand from Rhea’s, who had a sad face. Hieko jumped off my lap as I stepped forward, a few feet away from Caroline. “Try not to die.” With that, I summoned the most powerful spell I could above my head as I raised both hands. I want her to truly understand the difference between us.

A mass of destructive energy was circulating and revolving with tremendous speed. Deep crimson in color with white and black outlines, it looked very ominous. At the same time, I was feeling a high I'd never felt before with this much magic being used. The power I felt in my hands expanded, and then it would compress. It kept repeating as the overall feel of the mass of energy got thicker, feeling extremely lethal.

I look down on Caroline, where she is currently located, having her face planted into the ground. When the power of my spell overwhelmed her physical strength, she could no longer stand. Are you feeling it now, Caroline? The difference between the two of us is from heaven to earth.

“So, how does it feel, Caroline?” I shout as the swirling mass of destruction energy spins with ferocity as it gives off a loud screeching noise, which sounds incredibly dangerous. High winds were blowing everything around me as I stood strong. If I let this go, everyone here would most likely die.

“ENOUGH! I GET IT!” Caroline screamed. I could barely catch it with my hearing because of how much noise this densely packed ball of energy was emanating. With those words, I disbursed the magic, as everything went back to how it was before. She rolled over on her back, a hand gripping her forehead as she looked up at the sky.

“Just think about this, Caroline. Imagine that you were good to me from the start. Being a great sister, and we became best friends. Right now, I would have been willing to use this power for your benefit. But now, it’s far too late. You see now how much your bad personality screwed up your life.” I scoff at her as I go plop myself back down on the couch next to Rhea, who hugged me tightly.
