Added 2018-04-21 21:57:52 +0000 UTCSo last night I swear I had figured out the tuning to get these book variations to work properly as displays. I put the tuning in to all the multi-cover books and loaded it up today only to find none of them working properly. I almost thought for a moment I must have dreamed it or something because I literally spent ALL DAY today trying to get it to work again.
At some point this afternoon while playing around in live mode I realized it was actually working the WHOLE TIME. I guess when you're in build mode it won't work for some reason and I was using build mode to test it all...frickin...DAY!
So anyway if you write a book that has a different cover and you want it to display properly you have to set it on a non-retail surface first, then drag it while in live mode to the retail slots and it will show the proper cover.
Don't expect that cover to show up correctly in build mode or your inventory though - don't ask me why but I'm not going to delve into trying to figure it out.
Also, EA has fixed the main code (the script part I believe) so all of the tuning edits I originally made are obsolete. I've had to filter through them all and pull out all the unnecessary code.
I've had quite enough of these damned books so once I update all these I will NOT be adding anything else to this set...I am DONE.
