Return to form / Commission process

I've been putting a lot of priority into doing commissions over the last few months while juggling game dev work,, so personal art has fallen to the wayside a bit, but I'm very glad I opened for proper illustration comms during the last batch, they've helped me get back that sense of "oh right!! This is what its all about-" ,, like with this piece, I was reminded how natural somber and dramatic lighting used to feel for me, and it scratched a creative itch I had forgotten about.
I still feel like I'm somewhat in a loooong drawn out process of relearning how my art is meant to be / look like / how to draw it, and I'm so glad it finally feels like things are loosening up.

Years back, I had a bad case of burn-out surrounding my art, so to recover from it I made sure to completely drop any thought of "what do I want my art to look like, how can i make it better, etc" and just backed off completely from trying to push myself - let my art be what it is, just so I could still draw for work.
During that time, Dnd has been my little creative outlet, the pressure was kept off of it since it never needed to look fully finished or accomplished. So it has been so long since I properly have done personal illustrations that were done with the aim and purpose of challenging myself - it's been good to focus on work, it's been necessary to focus on work - even now I know I can't casually indulge in trying personal pieces willy nilly. But I think, things are finally starting to feel familiar again - it's weird, but I'm excited to slowly relearn how to indulge like I used to ( while also being mindful of burn-out lmao )

This looks amazing, and remember to take breaks for yourself too, don't push yourself to much and do things you find fun to draw/do with art to keep that creative spark 💙💙💙
