Weekly Update (09/13/2023)

Hi guys! How are you? First of all, we'd like to apologize for the lack of update the last week. We weren't done yet with a few ideas nor with the Maeve's reworked outfit, but now we are done with many ideas for events and with Maeve's outfit!

Maeve's Reworked Outfit.

We're ALMOST done with Maeve's redesign. We've made a pretty beautiful outfit for her that is both formal and attractive. We've also mixed elements from the original Maeve, the one from the demo itself and current Maeve (v0.4.0). What do you think guys? Is it a good design? Let us know in the comments!

Reworking previous content: Maeve's & Lilith's personalities, world-building, improved intro, and MC's and Jade's relationship!

We have been thinking a lot, and we believe it is a good idea to redo the intro for the last time, which currently has us very dissatisfied, so let's start in parts, shall we?

The beginning: We have two options, either start giving more detail about MC and Jade's relationship, and move on to the portal scene, or in your case, start the game exactly after crossing the portal, leaving the player going blindly, drawing their own conclusions that it is Jade for the MC (although of course we all know the answer)

Character Personalities and Arcs:

• Jade: Despite her not getting reworked, her appearence in the introduction will be edited. so for this introduction, we have thought about making it a little longer, but with more things happening and more world-building present. To begin with, introducing Jade with high hopes that the magical world will be like some fantasy from her mangas and comics, but as time goes by, and as time passes and more, more events, that hope fades. We've shown hints of this arc before, such as the number of students being tiny, although of course, Jade remains positive about this. Is this a good idea for a character arc?
• Maeve: The idea of ​​Maeve and Lilith being a much more dynamic duo is quite attractive. Maeve being more active, cheerful, motherly even when it comes to being director and teacher, but outside of her work as director, she is dedicated to capturing problematic magical monsters (not the sexy ones, you know which ones, although if you think that would be a better idea, let us know!), and will show a stronger and more aggressive side, a side that she would show to protect others. someone like Lilith, one of his students, etc. Maeve would be more than happy to welcome MC and Jade to school.
• Lilith: She on the other hand, would be a much less cheerful and proactive woman, she would seem truly tired, and beyond that, doubtful whether accepting MC into the academy is a good idea, considering the risks that this entails, such as getting involved. in trouble with "certain people", as mentioned at the beginning of the story. Despite a description of her drier and more aggressive personality, she is still a witch of pure nature, a woman who loves to teach, and her greatest desire, like Maeve, is for a youth of witches to be reborn from the ashes, who magic is like in its golden age, of course, it does not show its desires as obviously as Maeve.

First Steps in the Magic Realm: Whatever the decision to start the mere beginning of the game, we want to start this time with Maeve and Lilith welcoming us this time to the magical world, both being aware of the nature of the MC, as we implied in previous points of this post. We start getting to know them, perhaps very abruptly, as soon as we enter that portal, what we see is not a warm welcome, but, specifically, a Lilith sleeping casually in the grass, while Maeve captures another monster, thus starting the Maeve&Lilith dynamic. , while we begin to unravel Jade's magical fantasy a little (poor thing), also exposing Maeve's second work.

After this event, a newly victorious Maeve against a beast would immediately transition to that maternal and happy Maeve with Jade and MC. We think this start is very good, but what do you think?

After this, things would not be so different from the current introduction, just changing the order of how events happen a little, the meeting with Annie, etc.
