For example, Umi has to make sure the group work very hard so nothing will fall apart. Otherwise, their school will be permanently closed. As for Homura, she has to prevent Madoka from becoming a magical girl for 2 reasons. 1st reason was due to Madoka's dying wish from the 3rd timeline for not becoming a magical girl. And the 2nd reason, if Madoka turns into a Witch, the world will be completely destroyed. Also, Homura has an arrow bow at the end of the final episode of the Anime and 2nd movie just like Umi who practices archery.
