This specific episode is best in sub because of 'the line.' But the dub team gets their act together for the future instances of Cid going nuke happy.

2025-04-27 15:25:40 +0000 UTCAt 12:45 when you asked if Alpha just left the girl on the ground, yes she did. The girl was dead. Alpha had to kill her because of the experiments and injection she got that made her a monster. She couldn't be saved.

2025-04-27 09:22:00 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, the Dub delivery of 'Atomic' isn't even close to the Sub even ignoring the lack of an effect on it, as I think most of what makes it for the Sub 'Atomic' is the breathy whisper the VA delivers it in, where with the Dub he basically just says it as if he's speaking normally.

2025-04-24 01:02:15 +0000 UTCClarification on your pre watch discussion about Alexia getting upset when Cid said he likes her fencing: Due to her inferiority complex when it comes to her sister, Cid saying he likes her fencing was perceived by her as patronizing rather than endearing, especially since she sees her style as being weak. Him saying he likes it comes off very condescending when taking her feelings about her fencing style (combined with her lamenting her own weakness) into consideration. It seems weird at face value, but when considering her internal character struggles it makes sense. As you see by the end, she rediscovers her love for her fencing style again due to Shadow showing her that her style can be strong & beautiful, and thus sees Cid's earlier comment about her fencing as a flattering remark now. Hence her suddenly seeing him in a new light and wanting to continue their "fake" relationship. Especially since he's the only one besides the sister she loves to ever say anything positive about her style. As other commenter's have said, the city was evacuated earlier in the episode (due to the monster that was loose) so nobody died during his 'I AM ATOMIC'. Yes, that moment is GODLY EPIC. I watched your reaction to it more than 10 times π One thing I will say about this anime... as you said in the beginning, it seems like such a goofy show but the world actually has an interesty story and lore to it when it's not focused on the MC. And that story only gets more interesting as the series continues. So it finds an amazing balance between comedy and intriguing story. π€πΎ
