Thank you so much for such a fun reaction for us, Reds! I really appreciate you still working to create these fun reactions for us even while you're sick. It really means a lot Although, I would certainly understand if you feel the need to take a break so you can concentrate fully on making yourself feel better. But given that this is now once again your full time job, I understand you fighting through your sickness to react to our favorite shows and movies. So, thank you so much, my dear friend. Truly.
Dead Reckoning- Once again... I absolutely love, love, love this episode!!! It's easily another one of my favorite episodes of season two, and one of my overall favorite episodes of this entire show. It's so, so good!!!
I love Reese so much, and I love how Jim Caviezel portrays his character in every aspect that makes John Reese. Especially when he shows the emotion, which Jim Caviezel excels at. The emotion in his eyes is beautiful. And Reese in this episode... We see that much more of the emotion in his character that I love so much. :)
I love the moment between Reese, Carter, and Fusco towards the end when his friends find him just as Reese is about to head out onto the roof to sacrifice his life. It's emotional, and the acting between all three of them is beautiful. I love seeing the concern for Reese on both Carter's and Fusco's faces. It's so sad. And I also love seeing just how far they have come together as a team, along with Finch too of course.
My favorite moment... Is the moment between Reese and Finch, when Reese walks out onto the roof, only to come face to face with Finch who refuses to give up on the man who has become a very close friend to him the more they've come to know one another. I love how Reese pleads with Finch to let him go because this is the moment his past has caught up to him once more. However, Finch refuses to give up on Reese and saves his life as he works to unlock the cell phone attached to the bomb so he can at last disarm it in order to save Reese's life. What a phenomenal moment!
Reese is absolutely tired, and he's running on fumes thanks to Finch, Carter, and Fusco. He's been running on fumes ever since Finch first brought him on as his partner back in season one's Pilot episode. Reese is alive, and he's fighting to survive for them. However, Reese is struggling deep down much more than we and our other main characters know and can possibly understand. However, his past has once again caught up to him, and he's terrified of losing anyone else he cares about like he lost the love of his life, Jessica. So, yes... Reese was prepared to die to protect his friends. And because deep down, there is tragically a part of him that is too tired to keep fighting for much longer. So heartbreaking.
I just love everything else about this episode as well. I love how Kara uses Reese and Snow only to clear a path for her, all so she could get into the room and plant the hard drive, or virus into the computer, when all throughout the episode we believe she needed them for something more.
And yes... Kara is a phenomenal villain in this episode, like she has been since her first introduction back in season one! And what an end for her and Mark Snow!! I was absolutely shocked when Snow appears in the backseat of Kara's car just as the sound of the bomb vest is revving up, just like you were. I didn't see this coming, and while it's too bad that both characters are killed in this episode, because I absolutely love them both... This moment for them both is absolutely phenomenal! What a great way for them both to go out!
I also really love seeing Bear immediately run to Reese once he comes back to the library and seeing him smother Reese upon becoming so excited to see him. And I love seeing Reese laughing as he plays with Bear. So cute! :)
And lastly... We finally get to see what came of Kara after the events we've seen in two other episodes after she and Reese are told to kill one another in the flashbacks, only for both of them to survive the bombing. And we get introduced to the old man currently known at this point, only as the leader of the "New Gods". Because his name is never actually spoken in this episode. I really love the mystery behind this old man, and knowing that he used Kara to plant the hard drive that will begin something big and dangerous to come in about five months. But if his role doesn't present enough of a mystery, he has also revealed that Finch is possibly behind Reese's and Kara's mission that set the events from this episode in motion. Yay!!!
And no... Finch wasn't the person who put the hit out on John and Kara, or whichever agents their agency within the CIA might have sent out on this mission. Finch's role in this, is that he built the computer that John and Kara were sent out to retrieve, and Finch is responsible for the computer being there in China at that time. The orders for John and Kara to kill one another, came from people within the agency. Most likely because they wanted what's on the computer for themselves, and needed to kill anyone else who knew of its existence. I hope this explanation helps you, Reds.
Fun fact... Our mysterious villain is played by an actor named, John Nolan. He is not this show's creator, Jonathan Nolan. However, John Nolan is related to the Nolan family. John Nolan is Jonathan and Christopher Nolan's uncle. Which is really cool!
Thank you so much once more, Reds! I really enjoy this episode so much, and I'm so happy you loved this episode too!! And I'm so grateful for your reaction to it! I look forward to more Person of Interest, dear friend. :)
Sincerely,
Heidi
