Hollywood What If Chapter 287

He was doing his best to remain calm. He didn't want to judge Angelina without hearing the complete story, but he was sure disappointed.

"About that, I did nothing, okay."

Angelina giggled.

Kazir was still quiet and waited for more explanation.

"Well, I found her and decided to talk to her. I talked about how our relationship is doing great, and how we love each other. She's listening very seriously, actually. I also talked to her about the watch you received on your birthday."

"... What did you tell her?"

"I said that it was missing and you can't find it."

"..."

Kazir sighed. This might be troublesome. He knew that Angelina had a tendency to do something like this. People in this industry, especially famous people, were very arrogant.

Furthermore, Angelina did the same thing with Reese last year ago and a year after that. Of course Kazkr knew about it but he let it pass because he loved her.

"Do you hear yourself right now?"

"Oh come on babe, it's nothing. I didn't expect that she would cry like that. You're not mad, right?"

"No, I'm not, I can't be mad at you. But I'm extremely disappointed. What if Kirsten announced that she would drop her role in Spider-Man? That will cost a huge damage."

"Look, I'm sorry, okay? I can make it up to you."

Realizing that Kazir was serious, Angelina apologized and promised that this would never happen again.

Kazir was quiet for a while before nodding. In the end, he sided with Angelina. She was his girlfriend after all. However, their relationship after this incident slightly changed.

Kazir and Angelina returned to Beverly Hills after they left the party. The two were both busy but Kazir admitted that he was more busy than Angelina. He was trying to make it up to her but what happened earlier affected his decision.

They returned to their respective jobs and met at once a week but their excitement towards each other was getting weaker week by week. Kazir and Angelina were still a loving couple, but a crack already happened.

"I didn't expect that you guys would show up in Grey Pictures with this intention."

"Kazir, don't be like that. I know you're smart. You already expected that this thing will happen."

"Indeed."

Enrico Pucci visited Grey Pictures for a formal business meeting. The reason: Warner Brothers was interested in acquiring shares of Grey Pictures which was solely owned by Kazir... Well, Stella Willow held 1.3% after working in the company for 3 years. She started working in Grey Pictures in 1999, around the time of production of The Bourne Identity.

"Our initial proposal is $1 billion for 40% of the company but that will probably not work..."

Enrico sighed. In the first place, this was not his forte. He was a producer, not someone from Morgan Stanley or Golden Sachs who was used to acquisition jobs. Well, Warner Bros was currently contacting J.P. Morgan for this job.

"Hm, you have to keep up with the numbers." Kazir smiled.

After the success of Continental Cinematic Universe, the net worth of Grey Pictures went up to $5 billion. Especially when the rumors that Grey Pictures wanted to start another Cinematic Universe which was about Marvel superheroes.

"... Yeah." That was all Enrico could say.

February 10, 2002, Warner Bros started their acquisition. It was a great move that seemed promising, after all, Grey Pictures was now the most sought-after studio in Hollywood.

However, a week after that, Sony-Colombia also started their acquisition! They announced that they were ready to acquire 35% shares of the company for the cost of $2.1 billion. It seemed that Sony-Colombia was in dire need of high-quality movies that Kazir could provide. Especially after they taste of greatness of Spider-Man that Kazir produced.

Now, Warner Bros and Sony-Colombia had their battle regarding which one would acquire Grey Pictures.

This could last months or even a year. Apparently, Grey Pictures didn't decline the acquisition but they were not adamant either... As if Grey Pictures was waiting for more. 

The two studios that dominated Hollywood started their battle, even making business dealings with J.P. Morgan and Golden Sachs for this acquisition. 

This news was released in newspapers and some TV channels. The opinions of many people were divided. 

People in Hollywood knew that the outcome of this acquisition would influence Hollywood tremendously. Once Grey Pictures worked with one of the Big Six, that said company would have an advantage at the box office. 

Actually, people knew that the answer to this question was none other than Kazir Grey. He was the one capable of achieving many feats in this industry. 

Some people thought of kidnapping the guy to take advantage of his talent but they were not crazy enough to do that. Hollywood had a lot of crimes but they won't go as far as kidnapping a famous person... But it was different if the person in question was a nobody. After all, rumors were circulating that some establishments in Hollywood do sex trafficking, technically a kidnapping. 

While people in Hollywood have complicated thoughts regarding this acquisition, normal people/movie-goers were chill about it. As long as the quality of movies that Grey Pictures was amazing, they didn't care which company acquired it. 

Just like that, two months passed and April arrived... This month, Sony-Columbia gladly announced that Spider-Man surpassed $1 billion! 

It just barely passed the mark with $1.01 billion but it was still a fact that happened! 

Now, people recognize that Spider-Man was the box office champion of 2001(last year). 

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone ended its screening with $974 million. Being the second-in-place 

Third on the list was The Lord Of the Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring with $868 million. 

Fourth was John Wick Chapter 2 with $621 million. 

Fifth was Monster, Inc. with $528 million. 

Sixth was the Fast and The Furious with $502 million. 

Now, Kazir was recognized as the only director who filmed two $1 billion movies in back-to-back years! 

This made the acquisition intensified!
