Calix and the others returned to Dellia with dark expressions.

Marianne was on his back, unconscious. She pushed herself to the limit and acquired her 3rd Term Attribute. Now, she was very tired and snuggled closer to Calix. Her breathing scalded Calix's ear. But the man didn't have the time to appreciate the beauty. Calix was too depressed. 

As for Scarlett, she looked tired as well. She fought countless zombies and it took a toll on her body. She could not use her 3rd TA because zombies didn't feel fear. So she had to burn them to ashes instead. 

Out of all of them, Nikki had it better. After she became berserk, Nikki returned to her healthy status. As if she regained a second life. Perhaps her TA was her life-saving ability. Whenever she received a fatal injury, she would turn into a mindless beast and tear her enemies. On top of that, all of the wounds she received would vanish and her health status would be better. Definitely a cheat. The only downside was she could only use it when she was in a grave situation. 

When Yuna opened the portal, she was worried and immediately looked for Calix. She tried to approach him but she stopped when she realized that Calix had a broken expression. 

In the end, she behaved well and took them back to Dellia. Particularly, back to Kimberly's mansion. 

"Calix--!"

Unlike the other girls, Lou Viola ran to Calix when they returned. She was scared that someone happened to him. 

"Lou, are you okay?"

"Nn, I'm fine."

Lou sobbed weakly and nodded. She was still wearing her battlesuit because she was slightly traumatized. She felt like she was still on the battlefield, where endless zombies spawn around her. 

"That's good to hear."

Calix smiled and rubbed her cheek. He found a sofa for Marianne and gently put her down. 

"There's a Doctor on the second floor, I will call him."

Kimberly felt like something was strange. Especially Calix, he was clearly sad. 

'He's looking for a woman... Perhaps that woman is already dead.'

This time, Kimberly's deduction was wrong. Oni Chichi was not dead. Well, she didn't have enough information so her answer was not accurate. But it was obvious that Calix was heartbroken. Kimberly could see it on his face. 

To ease the atmosphere, Kimberly walked out of the room and call the private doctor she hired. 

Dellia was in turmoil too because of the Cannon. 

"Calix... Where is Oni?"

After calming herself, Lou asked an important question. 

"..." 

Calix averted his gaze. He didn't how to say it. 

"C- Calix?"

Lou's slightly better expression turned worst again.

"... I'm sorry."

"I- I see..."

Lou did her best and smiled. However, tears flowed from her eyes. She could not control her emotions and started crying. 

The sound of her crying made the atmosphere depressed. Even Yuna and Nikki who had better situation was affected by the atmosphere. 

Lou kept crying and wiping her tears. Her tears kept falling no matter how many times she wiped them. She was sad, very sad. She lost one of her friends. 

"..."

Calix decided to hide the truth from Lou. He failed to save Oni Chichi not because she was dead. He failed because Oni Chichi was the Archbishop of the Council of Torment. Even her name as Oni Chichi was nothing but a fake name. Her real name was Toshi Densetsu. The missing daughter of Esmeralda Margaret. 

"I'm really sorry."

He bowed. 

Lou kept crying and grabbed his hand. 

"I- It's alright... Calix, you don't have to act strong. I know that you are sad too. Please, don't hold it in."

Lou's face was red in devastation. Tears and snot almost covered her face. Clearly heartbroken by Oni Chichi's "death."

"... Thanks, Lou."

Seeing the woman cry, Calix clenched his fists. Perhaps he was affected by her sadness that Calix started sobbing too. 

Was he sad that he failed the mission?

Was he sad that he realized that Oni Chichi and Toshi Densetsu were one person? 

Or perhaps he was sad that Toshi Densetsu was actually an enemy, the leader of the Council of Torment.

'No, it's not because of it... I'm sad because Toshi's expression when I looked at her for the last time was filled with hopelessness. As if she already lost all of her hope in living.'

He understood that Toshi Densetsu suffered so much to reach that state in her life. 

Suddenly, he felt like he hated the Kingdom of Junian. Even though slavery was nothing but history, there were still some people who were suffering because of it. That was definitely the truth. 

'I hate myself for not realizing that. I have a chance to save her... I should have responded to her kiss.'

Either way, he knew that Esmeralda Margaret would be devastated once she found that her daughter was actually the Archbishop of the Council of Torment.

He cried and tears rolled down. Just like Lou Viola, Calix Romoel was crying. 

Even Yuna, Scarlett, and Nikki became sad. They didn't know the exact reason why they were crying, but they were sad that Calix was crying. 

"Calix... please, we are here for you. I promise I will not steal your underwear again. Please don't be sad."

Yuna sniffed and kneeled down in front of him, resting her head on his lap. 

"You're sad, I'm sad. Nikki sad."

Perhaps because of the atmosphere, Nikki cried like a child. 

As for Scarlett, she hugged Calix from behind. She glared at the other women but she was crying too. Her tears were real because she was indeed heartbroken by Calix's crying. 

In the end, the room was filled with their cries. 

When Kimberly and the doctor entered the room, they were welcomed by people crying. 

"... Did someone die?"

The doctor whispered next to Kimberly. 

"I think so." Kimberly nodded. 

They were all adults. But sometimes, even adults cried when they reached the bottom of their emotions.
