"Next."
Kazir called for the next person. Right now, Kazir was interviewing every person who passed Salvatore's qualifications.
Kazir was looking for an assistant who would help him with almost everything... Well, he needed an assistant to keep his life going.
These past two years, Kazir did nothing but work and work hard. He didn't have the time to think about anything.
Having an assistant would make his job better. To be honest, it was a mystery why Kazir only looked for an assistant right now.
Perhaps he was still skeptical about people and he had a hard time trusting strangers.
A few seconds later, a young woman showed up and greeted Kazir.
"Sir, I'm Erica Mendez. I graduated from California Polytechnic State University. I'm looking for a stable job."
"It said here that you work as a manager in a fast-food restaurant for three years. Why did you resign there?"
Kazir had their information. This information was real and certified by Salvatore. He filtered everything, down to their criminal record. To make sure that Kazir's possible assistant could be trusted.
The woman caught Kazir's attention because she was in the military for two years before being a manager in a fast food restaurant.
'I wonder if she's like this in her last job.'
"I resigned because the salary is not enough."
"Not enough?"
"Sir, I'm looking for a job that can bring me 6 figure salary annually."
"... And why is that?"
"I have twins to feed, sir."
"..."
Kazir was not used to this kind of conversation. The woman, Erica Mendez, was answering his questions in a typical military way.
"Drop the sir, just call me Kazir or Director Grey."
"Alright, Director Grey."
Even her posture was straight and perfect.
"It said here that you served in the military for two years. Do you have experience with guns?"
"Yes, I have."
"Can you drive?"
"I know how to drive, I have a driving license."
"Okay. That's good. You are hired."
"... Sir?"
"You're hired."
"..."
Erica was confused at first. Then, she realized that Kazir hired her. Her eyes were shining when she recovered from confusion.
"T- Thanks!"
She said and almost saluted, but she realized that it was not the right thing to do. So she bowed her head instead.
"Just go to Grey Pictures tomorrow and sign the contract. You can read it first and talk to your lawyer. As for your salary, I can assure you that you will be satisfied. Of course, you have to work hard."
"Yes! Director Grey."
The woman beamed and bowed again before leaving the room.
"Looks like I didn't have to keep this interview anymore."
He signaled the people outside that the interview was done. There were three people remaining and Kazir didn't bother talking to them.
Erica Mendez already fits the job.
First, she had experience in the military and she knew how to handle guns. She could protect Kazir in case of emergency.
Second, she looked intimidating because of the scar on her left cheek. She was tall too, towering around 6'3 feet. She was slightly taller than Kazir.
Third, she was not beautiful. She was average at best. So Kazir was confident that he won't be enticed.
Fourth was because of her answer. The woman had two children to feed.
'It seemed that her husband died in the battle.'
Kazir glanced at the information he got from Erica Mendez. Erica and her husband served in the military. He didn't know the exact details but her husband died and she retired from the military since then. After that, she realized that she was pregnant and decided to cherish them.
"Overall, her life story caught my interest. It's almost as if I can make a movie out of her story."
He chuckled. Well, making movies about real people was quite normal. A lot of film companies did that. Particularly, they love making war movies.
'The reason why Hollywood loves war movies is to promote anti-war agendas. Perhaps the military is using war movies to catch potential soldiers too.'
When Top Gun was released many young raging men joined the military. It was not a lie that Top Gun was the reason why they wanted to join the military.
Anyway, Kazir Grey hired a secretary and she knew how to handle guns, a plus point.
'I know how to use guns and I'm attending mixed martial arts lessons lately because of my movie. However, it's still better to have someone who knows what they are doing.'
With no anti-climatic plot, Erica Mendez accepted the job after reading the contract. Everything written in the contract was within her expectations. Her lawyer didn't find anything that could endanger her. She was even happy that she had two days of rest every week. Perhaps Kazir respected her as a mother who was working for the future of her kids.
As for her salary, Erica Mendez was shocked when Kazir kept his promise of a six-figure salary annually. She had a yearly bonus too. Furthermore, there was a clause that her salary would increase depending on her hard work.
"Sir, this is our schedule for today."
Erica gave a sheet of paper to Kazir and he read them. Overall, his schedule was a bit tight. The filming would restart tomorrow and he had to watch the preparation today.
On top of that, he had to attend the premiere of Napoleon Dynamite II this Thursday night.
"I better have to buy another suit."
He muttered to himself.
