Hollywood What If Chapter 30

The important day arrived and Kazir had a hard time sleeping. When the morning showed up, Kazir had dark circles around his eyes. He clearly didn't have a proper sleep.

Still, he was too active to feel tired. He took a cold shower to wake himself up.

Then, he went out of his apartment and used his bumpy car to get to the studio. Next to the studio was a newspaper store. Kazir bought a newspaper and grinned when he saw the front cover of the New York Post.

[68 Million! As of October 6, 1995, Se7en directed by David Fincher and starred by Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman had earned 68 million in 2500 theaters. From 47 million to 68 million! The box office had a 46.8 percent increase in just a week! This week it has an average of 8,363 per theater!]

With this news, Hollywood companies will probably lose their minds. This was a piece of good news for Kazir who was eager to prove himself.

Today was the small screening of Napoleon Dynamite. New Line Cinema and Fox Searchlight Pictures already stated that they would attend the screening of Napoleon Dynamite.

There were four remaining before the schedule and Kazir went early because he had to prepare the film.

When he entered the studio, he realized that Rector was already there.

"Rector, you're earlier than me."

"I can't sleep. Knowing that big people from Hollywood will watch a movie that I edited made me excited."

Kazir chuckled. He had the exact reaction. Then, a few minutes later, Renner and the others arrived as well. Even Ed Helms and Pedro Pascal helped with the preparation.

This movie was their door to Hollywood. This was once in a lifetime chance. After all, they had important roles in this movie.

If Napoleon Dynamite was released in theaters and had a good reception, then they would have a chance to be famous.

An hour later, Reese Witherspoon showed up as well. She had taken acting classes these days to improve her acting. Furthermore, she has a 'good' relationship with Kazir.

She smiled at Kazir and approached him.

"You look horrible."

This was the first time she saw him haggard with dark circles around his eyes. She thought this man was always calm but it seemed that she was wrong.

'As long as it's related to his film, he is always excited.'

She realized that Kazir loved movies very much. Every transition, every editing cut, every shooting angle, lenses, Kazir studied them seriously.

They had watched a few movies these past few weeks and she had learned more about him. She realized that Kazir was slowly becoming more handsome. A man who loves his career is handsome in her opinion.

"Hm. I have to set up the projector. I'll talk to you later Reese."

"..."

If there was a problem, it was Kazir who was too absorbed in his job. He didn't care about anything at all, even the woman next to him.

'Well, that's the reason why he is attractive.'

There was a study that women like men who disregard them. They were attracted to these kinds of men because they love the thrill of making them fall... Perhaps that study was not real. But there was a saying that "girls like bad boys".

Then, the next group showed up to help Kazir and cheer him.

"Salvatore."

Kazir greeted his agent. While Kazir was busy editing Napoleon Dynamite, Salvatore faced the companies who wanted to contact him. Kazir was thankful to have him.

Even though Salvatore was young and he had rookie actors under him, he didn't show any nervousness facing the giant studios.

"Kazir, this is my actor. His name is Hae-Won Park. He is half Korean just like me."

"Hello, Director Grey."

"Hm." Kazir nodded at them.

He glanced at the Korean actor for a second before retracting his gaze.

'Asian actors didn't have a strong influence in Hollywood, even in the future. Only a few Asian actors became successful in Hollywood such as Jackie Chan and Jet Lee."

To be honest, Kazir was confused about why Salvatore signed an actor who had a small future under him. Was it because of his Korean race?

Furthermore, the man had a hard-to-pronounce name. They probably have to change his screen name.

Anyway, Kazir was too busy to think about it. The hours passed and the people from Hollywood companies showed up one by one.

Kazir and Salvatore greeted them one by one.

The reason why these people attended this screening was to see if Kazir had potential.

Se7en and Napoleon Dynamite and different genres. However, it didn't stop them to see the movie.

If this movie and potential, they would buy it. Simple as that.

The movie started without any logo, only the opening credits. Napoleon Dynamite hadn't signed any contract with any distribution so the opening logo was still missing. Kazir would adjust it once the contract was done.

Minutes passed by, and people burst out laughing and chuckled. It didn't happen once, but many times.

This showed one thing, Napoleon Dynamite was a successful movie. At least the reactions of the people from distribution companies were good.

Kazir had a satisfied smile when the movie ended. He could see from the people that they were interested to have a collaboration with him.

"It's a good movie. If we have a chance, we can talk later, Mister Grey."

A fat man approached him with a smile and shook his hand.

"Mister Weinstein, I'm happy to hear that."

Harvey Weinstein nodded. He could see that Kazir was interested as well.

However, Harvey glanced at the people from other distribution companies, it seemed that he was not the only one who was interested in this film.

Se7en had a good reception and nobody wanted to let go of this Napoleon Dynamite. These two movies were written by Kazir Grey, this man had potential.
