Chapter 14

The kids woke up late because they slept late last night. Fortunately for Roman, he doesn't have school today and he could sleep all he wanted. 

When they got up, I was already taking my leave. Penelope approached me and kissed my cheek. 

"Be safe on the road, Honey."

"I will."

My wife was curling her lips up. It seemed that she had a good time last night, her cheeks were blushing and she looked blooming.

"Jajjy, take care."

Sophia said while pulling her teddy bear and walking on her fours. I carried my cute daughter and kissed her too. She giggled like a child and I put her on her mother. Penelope gently put her down so that Sophia could play. 

"Hm."

As for Roman, who has bed hair, he just nodded and glanced at me. I shrugged and fixed his hair before I leave. 

"... Be safe dad."

"I'll be back at night and I will bring gifts. What do you want?"

Since I'm going to receive my bonus and 13-month salary today, I want to surprise my kids. 

But I don't know what they want. All I do know is I won't disappoint my kids if I gave them something. They are such amazing kids. So kind, so intelligent and so cute. 

Roman smiled and hugged me too. 

"I want Gameboy!"

"..."

I don't know how to react to that. Let's see... Nope, Gameboy might be affordable but I know that Roman will be addicted once I bought him one. Furthermore, I would rather buy a sack of rice than spend thousands over a Gameboy. What about the game discs? Of course I have to buy them too if I buy a Gameboy, so no. 

"Except Gameboy, what else do you want?"

Hearing what I said, Roman shut his mouth and stared at me. Kid, you are too smart for a young boy. 

".... Beyblade."

"Okay, I'll buy you one."

Beyblade is cool, and Beyblade is nice. At least it's cheaper than Gameboy. Kids these days, they think money can be found on the road. I will spoil my kids as long as I could but recklessly buying expensive toys for them will not be tolerated. 

And now Roman has stopped staring at me. He's looking somewhere next to me. Probably at Sophia, who's standing next to me.

"What about my little princess, what do you want?"

I gently pinched her nose. Sophia didn't bother stopping me because her mind was thinking about what she wanted. 

"I want a bawbie dwoll!"

She screamed and waved her small soft hands. 

Hm? Ah. She's probably saying Barbie doll.

That's Sophia for you.  If you ask any girl whether she likes dolls or not, she'll say yes right away. Then again, she's still a baby. 

"Okay. Okay then, a barbie doll for your small baby."

"Yay! Can we pway Barbie tomowow?"

"Of course, let's do it tomorrow."

"Yay!"

She jumped around and I immediately grabbed her in case she went out of balance.  I felt the need to carry her everywhere but I couldn't. 

 I have to go out and get myself a paycheck.

Penelope came in with a sandwich. I was surprised that she prepared one, she is clearly happy... She stood next to me and handed me a small sandwich and some fruit juice.

"Eat it now."

I took the food from her and opened it quickly. Penelope chuckled and leaned closer to kiss my cheek.  Her soft lips lingered on my skin for an instant. When I raised my head after taking a bite of the sandwich, Penelope smiled warmly and walked away.

"Good luck, honey~".

"Thank you."

"Come home safely."

I smiled and closed the door.

"Now, let's start this day with joy."

Once I reached the company, I saw my coworkers chatting and laughing. Everyone was happy knowing that today was payday. 

"Hey Keith, make sure to join us later! We'll have fun and drink all around!"

"I'm gonna pass on that, I don't want to drink alcohol anymore."

"Bullshit, you?"

They laughed and I just shrugged. I don't have to explain because I know that they would not believe me anyway. 

At this time, I should check my timetable and grabbed my taxi but my feet moved in the opposite direction. I reached the office and I saw my manager, it seemed that they were busy because they were preparing for today. 

'After this, I will never return to this company.'

I don't have a problem and this company had been good to me. But I decided to resign because I want to start my own business. 

A gamble, but because of the help of the system, I know that I will never suffer, at least not that much, I guess... 

I walked into the office and sat down on the chair in front of the desk. The manager glanced at me and greeted me. 

"Good morning, Keith."

"Good morning."

"Do you have something to say to me?"

Seeing that he was busy, I wanted to say no but I knew that I have to say it today. I have to resign before I go to Penelope's province. In a way, this is a do-or-die for me since I decided to resign from my well-paying job. 

"About that..."

If I keep delaying the matter, there is bound to be a problem to the company. They have to find a replacement for me. And there will also be more problems. I don't want to deal with a huge amount of problems.

Well, considering that I'm going to resign with no notice would bring them problems too. But I'm sure they will find a replacement for me. My job is a taxi driver and many could take this job as long as they have a driving license. 

"Can we talk outside?"

I asked. 

"Yeah, sure no problem."

I just want to enjoy my life. I want to find happiness with the person that will love me for the rest of my life. This job takes too much of my time that I could spend with my family. So my decision is already clear. 

I will give up my job in this company and focus solely on my family. Well, I am only 25 years old. I'm still young so I shouldn't worry too much about the future. There's always hope for me.
