Lucky 352

"The project is about the history of the Forest of Death and how it affects our country." The professor added after the grouping was completed. 

"Which means..."

"Just as you guess, you guys will have a field trip to the border. But of course, you will not enter the Forest of Death, that place is dangerous. What you're going to do is interview soldiers and historians and make your own hypothesis... Although I guess one of us already created one."

When Professor Fannie said it, the students glanced at Lou Viola who was looking down and writing notes. Her studies were quite respected by the faculty because her ideas were noble. However, only a few knew the exact information. The students just know that Lou Viola was accepted into Horvart because of the article she sent to the University. 

"This is the start of the semester and I will not give a lecture or assignment. You can leave now and plan your trip."

"Nice!"

The students happily left the classroom. Early dismissal of the class means more time to play around. 

"Um... Do you have free time after school?"

Oni Chichi muttered and looked at the two. She felt awkward being next to them after she recalled what happened last time. She knew that Calix and Lou were close, at least based on what she saw. 

"I don't have work today." Lou was acting normal. Perhaps she was too focused on the project that she failed to see Oni's expression. 

"Nice, what about you Calix?"

"I don't have anything to do today. My place is wide and we can use it."

Calix remembered that Oni had a nasty roommate and Lou's place was quite small. So he decided to offer his place. 

"Cool. It's better than finding a place in the cafeteria or restaurant."

Lou easily agreed. 

"Okay. Since everyone already knows Calix's apartment, let's meet at 5 pm."

The three quickly made a decision and planned their project. 

'I thought it was a practical project but I can't believe that it's still a written one.'

At least it was better than a written exam. 

As they parted ways, Lou paused when she found out that her phone was vibrating. She realized that Calix sent her a message. 

-- Meet me at 4 pm at my house. I will prepare dinner for us.

It was one hour earlier than the meeting time and Lou's face immediately blushed when she understood Calix's intention. Preparing dinner at 4 pm was too early but Lou would not judge. Her body slightly trembled as she typed her response. 

-- I will visit you at 3:30 and bring some dishes. I want to help you prepare dinner. 

She was nervous when she hit the send button. She was acting shameless and she knew it. Still, she wanted to spend more time with Calix. She missed him for a whole week. 

-- That will be awesome. Thank you.

She squealed when she read his approval. 

'I wonder what nice dish to cook? Oh, and I have to wear something nice. Thankfully, I bought a pair of lingerie last time... I can wear it for Calix.'

Her face was red while walking, almost as if she was having a fever-- a lovefever/lovesick.

Still, the smile on her face was lovely to see.

Calix bought ingredients to make sure that they would have a nice meal. While walking out of the market, his sight caught something amusing. 

'Is that Quandale?'

He saw his friend Quandale Dingle with some shady people. They appeared to be talking about something and they were acting suspicious. 

'They are men and women who have a bunch of tattoos and smoking cigarettes.'

Quandale was sweating while talking to them and Calix could discern that he was really nervous.

His brows creased when he saw Quandale following the suspicious group to the dark alley. 

'Should I follow him?'

Quandale was a good person and he was Calix's first friend when he set his feet in this country. 

In the end, Calix decided to follow them. He put the groceries in his spatial ring and entered the alley. 

"Let's see what they are doing."

Yet right before he could even see what they were doing, an ear-piercing scream shook the place. 

Calix was stunned but he immediately returned to his senses and dashed into the alley. His hand was squeezing his necklace in case something happened. 

His feet stopped right in front of the dumpster and he was shocked when he witnessed a terrifying scene. 

A naked woman was on top of a man. However, they were not having sex. The naked woman was devouring the man by eating his throat. Blood was coming out of his neck and he was gasping for air, yet he drowned in his own blood. 

"H- Help me..."

Unfortunately, the woman broke his neck and he died miserably. 

The others quickly ran away from them and escaped the scene. 

'What is happening here? Is she a descendant of vampires? But I thought they only need blood, not flesh.'

Scarlett loved drinking his blood but the woman before him was like a hungry beast who was ready to kill anyone. She looked like a monster. 

Calix didn't have time to understand the situation. He found Quandale staring shitless a few meters away from him. 

The woman was still busy devouring the man. 

"Quandale, we have to leave!"

"Huh? Lucky?"

Quandale was still shocked and he could not think straight. Calix grabbed his shirt and pulled him away from the place. They started running away from the alley. 

He didn't kill the woman because he didn't want to blow his cover. Nobody knows that he was a spy. Besides, he did not know those people and he didn't feel bad. 

When they were far away from the place, Quandale was gasping for air and sat on the ground. 

As for Calix, he was just sweating but he could still run another mile. 

"What happened there?"

"I- I don't know, the woman started acting crazy after she undressed."

"What are you doing with them?"

"T- that's..."

Quandale didn't know what to say. It would be humiliating if he told the truth.
