Calix was protected by the Battlesuit and ready to fight. Yet Berto was just standing and looking at him calmly. 

"You know that you will lose if you fight me."

"You will never know if you don't try."

The two stare at each other. If the battle happened, this village might be caught and people would be hurt. 

In the end, the two were mature enough to understand the consequences. Calix dropped his weapon and Berto accepted his gesture. 

"I know that you're not part of the Council of Torment. We found the dead body of Minokawa in the deepest floor and confirmed that you were transported there. However, it's true that you stole something from the Ancient Library."

The cameras were not working because the Council of Torment infiltrated the Ancient Library, still, the University has genius detectives and they concluded Calix's real situation-- he was just caught in the problem but he was innocent, except for the fact that he stole a treasure from the Library. 

"Bring it back and this thing will be over."

Berto extended his hand. He didn't want to punish this man, because he was blood-related. Furthermore, Calix killed the followers of the Council of Torment while in the Ancient Library so Berto respected him for that. 

"About the treasure... I can't return it anymore."

The cat on his head was still sleeping peacefully even though the tension was quite suffocating. 

"I'm not asking, I want you to give it to me."

His gaze was getting darker and heavier. In this distance, Berto could summon Hell and burn Calix to ashes. 

"... I guess I don't have a choice."

"Nyah~"

He sighed and put the kitten on his Uncle's hand. Mera opened his eyes for a second before returning to his slumber. He preferred sleeping while the sunlight was present.

"Do you think I'm joking?"

Veins appeared on his forehead, and Berto was getting furious. 

"Why are you giving me a cat?",

"That's the thing you're asking."

Calix answered. He was a bit sad that Mera would be taken. However, Calix understood the truth that he stole the cat. Berto had the right to take him back. 

'I'm gonna miss you, Mera.'

The cat was still calling him daddy... And Calix's heart was breaking right now. 

"This? Cat?"

Berto clicked his tongue and returned the sleeping cat to Calix. He felt that his nephew was joking with him and that it was disrespectful.

"Nevermind, the egg is not fertilized and it's impossible to hatch."

'... Did they not see the eggshells? Did the eggshells melt or something?'

There should be eggshells left on the deepest floor after Mera hatched, yet it seemed that Berto and the others never saw it. Perhaps the eggshells indeed melted. 

"You... How's your father?"

"Huh?"

Calix tilted his head and was confused. 

"Tch, I'm talking about your father, Andreas Romoel."

"..."

Calix shut his mouth and his whole demeanor changed.

"You can't hide it from me. I know your identity--"

Right before Berto could finish his sentence, Calix immediately dropped a smoke bomb. The whole place was filled with smoke.

"This bastard--!"

Berto summoned Hell and erased the smoke. However, when the place became clear, Berto realized that Calix was already gone. 

"This is the second time that he escaped me! Damn it! I should have brought him to the Backrooms!"

It seemed that even a highly experienced soldier like Berto Alb could lose too. 

"And I never saw his real face! He knows me but I don't know him! What is this unfortunate situation?"

The guy's face was covered in bangs. Berto had no clue where to find him. 

"Clara, your son is a pain in the ass just like you."

He sighed in defeat. At least Berto confirmed something, his nephew didn't have bad intentions. He could not sense the hostility in him. 

A few hundred meters away from Berto, Calix tensed body was trembling.

"It's a good thing that I'm wearing a Battlesuit, or else it's impossible to escape from him."

Calix was breathing roughly and leaned on the tree. In the short moment when he threw a smoke grenade, he quickly sprinted and ran away. Facing Berto Alb was bad for him. 

"I'm not a stupid person and I know my abilities."

Running away from danger was always the best solution. Fighting would only make it worst. 

He looked around and confirmed that Berto failed to follow him this time. 

"I'm safe this time since he didn't know my real appearance. However, I have to stop using my Emo face. Maybe I will try growing my beard and act like a jock, I have muscles anyway. 

Meeting his maternal family was quite climatic and tiring. Today, he learned a lot of things and he was processing them slowly.

The long week vacation ended and Calix returned to Horvart University. In the end, he learned a few things and one of them caught his attention. 

"As expected, I can't find it on the internet."

He searched on the internet and he failed to find anything related to the sacred World Tree as if it was not an important part of the Elven History. 

"As if someone erased the story of World Tree."

Out of all of the people he asked, only two of them knew about World Tree. 

The first was his grandmother and the second was an old man who was suffering from Dementia... And to be honest, Calix was thinking if this 'World Tree' was even a real thing in the first place. 

"However, my gut feel is saying that this thing is important. Perhaps I have to talk to Esmeralda once she visits."

One week was eventful and Calix successfully grew stubbles on his chin. 

"Well, I guess this mission will not be completed this year. I need more clues."

The search for a certain Dark Elf was still ongoing. 

He walked into the hallway and failed to realize that someone was in front of him. The two collided and Calix's shoulder accidentally touched the woman's breasts. The woman fell down to the floor. 

"Ugh-- Who in their right mind will do this to me!"

The woman grumbled. She glared at him and fixed her dress.

"Oh, I'm sorry--"

Calix paused when he realized the woman he bumped had nine tails... 

Then, he looked around and realized that almost all of the men in the hallway were staring coldly at him.

"Tch, fucking bastard, he bumped Shoujo's tits!"

"What a Lucky guy!"

"Kill!"

"I wanna feel some tits too!"

They were raring in madness.
