Monthly Report: January 2023

Lunar New Year timezone, everyone! Andy here (feeling less sick and tired) bringing you the first monthly report of the year. It's Rex's turn to get sick and he's in my bed just upgrading his Nier Reincarnation units (as of now.)

January 2023 is a slow update month since we're all busy with lunar new year preparation. I'm not supposed to roll out any update, but I did get some things done. I don't have anything else to say this time, so I'll get to it now.

Don't forget about this:

February should be one of those housekeeping updates where we clean up the game and bug squashing.

We'll focus on providing more Days per update starting 2023 to pick up the pace. Hopefully by the end of 2023, we can reach day 15+ for all routes. That way, the story for After Class will conclude before we get too old LOL.

UPDATE: I've changed how we charge you, it's now subscription based: you'll be charged the same date you become a patron, not at the start of the month. This is done to avoid double charging (Existing patrons won't be affected.)

Tier pictures have been updated.

Also, if you're a $12 or $15 patron, please don't forget about the rewards. I'll be reaching out to you when it's ready sometime in the future (even if you're no longer a patron.)

• Updated game to 0.10.02p:

This update brings you Parker Day 9 CG update. The last CG we'll get from Wolgen[1]. I added a few things other than CG, but it's not worth mentioning.

• Adjustment to Episode Lars 1:

After reading the episode, I realized how outdated and shallow LE1 is. That's why I'm rewriting his first episode to reflect my current writing style and adjusting how it's presented.

But since I haven't finished rewriting the whole thing, I'm disabling access to it for the time being. I'm also adding new things to LE1, so please look forward to it when it's finished!

• Added credit scene:

It's not like the ones you see in movies. Just a short one after latest available day in game. It's also skippable once you've seen it once. Here's a video of said credit scene.

• Patron list updated:

Yes. Updated 22-01-2023.

• Side images have been updated:

It's finally here. We're no longer using temporary side images. We currently have the main cast base and first set and will keep adding them (resource permitting) including the side characters.

• Vanilla Mode toggle has been changed:

Vanilla Mode seems like it's implying something else, so to make things less confusing, I've changed it to Streamer Mode, and it's only available on title screen.

It's still on the works and not working as of now, but since we're here, I might as well tell you what it does: the toggle will allow you to stream the game without sex scenes and naked sprites. Think of it as SFW mode...but not exactly SFW since we know the nature of this VN: highly suggestive, furry certified.

Sex scenes will be altered to fit streamer mode. Instead of horny, it'll be wholesome.

• Replay scene feature is being worked on:

If you open up the gallery, you'll notice there are a few "???" buttons. One of them is a Replay Scene feature where you can...replay scenes LOL.

I'm not sure how well it will work, but I'll look around renpy documentation just in case.

What's next?

Well, there's a lot of things planned for AFCL in 2023. But I'll list the most important ones here.

• [1] You might misread that as last artwork by Wolgen, but I assure you he is staying, just not doing CG anymore.
• Speaking of CG, Mr.Bear (Special Episode Lars, anniversary artwork) will be in charge of CGs in the future, and ven will be working on pop-ins, side images and other stuff.

• I'm also implementing more QoL features to make your (and mine) experience better.
• I realize that I'm not taking advantage of Patreon polling feature that much (or at all) but I'll start doing that now as a way to interact with you guys.

I think that's all I have for now, I'll update when there's something new.
