How to make the Little Dancing Lumpy Boy!

Howdy! Here's my new tutorial on how I made the Little Dancing Lumpy Boy from space circus. I'm making it live on my main chain tonight, but here it is a bit early for you lovely Patrons! Hope you enjoy! Cheers, Will

Any idea when your next video will be out?

Hey thank you! Well I like to use it as a base. I creates a uniform layer before I start adding any texture. I also don't add the flour paste to all of the model so it's nice for the whole thing to have a coating, even in the spots the paste isn't added. I also find the latex with flour mix isn't quite as strong as standard thickened latex so it's also for a bit of structure

Love the work and I'm just getting into making masks and other goodies so I was wondering what's the point of using the latex thickner if you're going to use the paste right after?

I don’t know the limits of it’s flexibility, I used it on vinyl doll heads and plastic bodies so it had a little give (and didn’t crack when I squished their heads back on), but I can’t say how much. I totally get the streaks being a good thing!

The way you say ‘the latex’ makes me instantly antsy and I love that

Thanks so much!

Hmmm no I haven’t tried mod podge myself, but I might pick up a tub and give it a go! I actually like the streaks on the eyes as it gives them a little more texture and makes them look like they’re more... watery? Is it flexible at all? Or does it dry solid like a varnish? Thanks for the suggestion!

Will McDaniel

Have you ever tried Liquitex high gloss liquid varnish or Mod Podge Gloss instead of clear nail varnish? I used to be a doll customizer/painter and the Liquitex/ModPodge is thinner so it doesn’t leave texturural streaks like the gloopy nail varnish, doesn’t chip as easily and is overall cheaper (I don’t even know if you have any of those problems though) and it is easier to control. It also dries faster. They made tears, eyes and lips glossy really nicely. Just thought I’d suggest in case you have any of the problems I used to have with nail varnish.
