Makes you think what other type of straight line missions you could do. Straight line across a national park seems obvious. And very do-able. It would give you a good range of challenges. The Cairngorns too much nature. New forest too much people. Something like the Yorkshire Dales would be the right amount of nature and farmers with Shotguns.

She jumped at the chance to attempt the challenge herself when Maclean invited her to accompany him after he was inspired by watching straight-line mission videos by YouTuber Tom Davies, known as Geowizard.

Mostly swimming in near-freezing but very pretty Scottish lochs and seas. Great way to learn all the different ways to describe feeling cold in Gaelic.

All it's made me do is want to get out there and strive for better. I'm seriously considering Crossing England in March, a line that would be far longer than 49 miles
