No Farms? Pfft...

No but in all seriousness this looks absolutely Brutal. I feel their pain. A great achievement. Won't lie though, I'm relieved it wasn't across the whole of Scotland. I need to get back out there and conquer Britain before someone else does.

Makes you think what other type of straight line missions you could do. Straight line across a national park seems obvious. And very do-able. It would give you a good range of challenges. The Cairngorns too much nature. New forest too much people. Something like the Yorkshire Dales would be the right amount of nature and farmers with Shotguns.

Not been done before! Theodore Roosevelt used to do straight line missions. > His favorite method was his point-to-point strategy, whereby he would point to a spot on a ridge and then proceed in a straight line directly in that direction. His motto was “Over, under or Through – But Never Around.”

You did inspire one of them. Graham’s curiosity was initially piqued after meeting people who had attempted the route but failed due to adverse weather conditions. She jumped at the chance to attempt the challenge herself when Maclean invited her to accompany him after he was inspired by watching straight-line mission videos by YouTuber Tom Davies, known as Geowizard.

BS....these are just copy-cats. You should be credited. And they said it's not been done before? Try Norway!

On their IG they had a film crew not on the exact line but close by — think a doco-film is coming in the future

Calum's something else. He's actually usually presenting in Gaelic, on quite a few shows on BBC Alba, where's he's kind of made his own genre of adventure TV. Mostly swimming in near-freezing but very pretty Scottish lochs and seas. Great way to learn all the different ways to describe feeling cold in Gaelic.

If it they'd crossed Scotland, definitely. A 49 mile line in the Cairngorms, as epic an achievement as it is, doesn't bother me too much. All it's made me do is want to get out there and strive for better. I'm seriously considering Crossing England in March, a line that would be far longer than 49 miles

tom davies

Oh mate, that must have been a gut punch to read!

Just congratulated Calum and apparently he's a big fan! Nice to know, although it would have been extra special if he'd mentioned me in the article (I suppose he didn't write it) The big question of course as stated above is, what is platinum? I guess we'll find out in the film (not sure when it comes out)

tom davies

We know who the real deal is!

This is the real question we need to know

JeroenL

Tom, get them on the channel for an interview and let’s see their score!!

Maurik Willemse

Was it platinum?

I only skimmed the article and I didn't see a mention of you. I'm kinda upset about that. But I don't even know if Tom was the first to do this.

The part of crossing a complete country is what ist makes a lot harder to plan. To find a line without private properties hedges and farms is nearly impossible, as you showed us.

Well, its safe to say that your videos has sparked an interest with the people! Have you ever thought of taking the longest route through a contry? Thats another record thats ready to be taken!

Oh boy it's a competition now!

AfterInfinity Music

This looks like a record waiting to be broken... And I know the man for the challenge.

Can't wait for the next one, when I stumbled upon ep 1 of Scotland I binged all of your other adventures. Loving the geoguessr content too

No fences, no hedges?

Anton

Yeah! No vid, it didn't count😒😉

Estevan

My alarm app shows me a news digest when I wake up - and when I saw this headline with no context... I was hoping it was you & Greg

Ben Ward

I want proof! Where’s the video?
