The Goonies

The Goonies

Comments

The guy who directed this also directed The Lethal Weapon franchise

Erick Webster

*THE Train. Her name is Anne Ramsey. She was really good in a bunch of stuff.

SixEight Guy

You should definitely watch Throw Mama From A Train. It has the same actress who played Mama Fratelli

Karim

he was Cipher in The Matrix too

Andy Farmer

A childhood favorite of mine. Since no one else noted it, one of the Fratelli brothers is none other than Ralph Cifaretto from The Sopranos. Fitting that he was wearing a toupee in the show since he had one here too.

Melissa

Yellowstone, 1883, 1923

IRLEPL

BLACK ORPHEUS. HIDDEN FIGURES. SOMETHING WILD.

George Bakis

LONGEST YARD ORIGINAL BURT REYNOLDS SUPERIOR BY FAR.

George Bakis

IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT &. PATCH OF BLUE

George Bakis

Well if you have Some that say they can't relate to A Christmas Story with a white family in the Suburbs there is a host of viewers that dont care for the Goonies.

George Bakis

Are we going to see DEXTER anytime soon. That last season they added?

Kim Cottingham

A lot of Stranger Things was an homage to The Goonies....Mikey is even Bob in season 2!

Dan Gonya

This is a great movie. Even my kids love it !!!

Michele G

Brand was also Luellen in “No Country for Old Men”

Ricky Bretherick

I am so glad you finally got to this movie.

Dan Gershgol

HEY YOUUUUU GUYS!!!! I loveddddd this movie as a kid and I love it still!!

Lee Stephenson

That is the perfect monster Rhe Monster Squad movie. Asia and BJ I think you two would like it.

MichelleMyBell

One of my favorite kid movies, they made better movies back then. My kids watched this over and over.

Beth Howton

Lol nearly everyone! Agree, its a banger. This and Lost boys are definite classics imo

SilverDoe🎔

1000% agree!!!!

Pink Martini AZ

So many stars of the past.... Data (Indiana Jones) / Mikey (Lord of the Rings) / Brand (Thanos) / Mouth (1 of 2 most famous Coreys)... This was a jumping point for so many people.

Chris Candler

Super 8 is great!!!

Rebecca Karsner

Well I was coming on here to say everyone likes the Gooniez and its timeless in that way but then I saw a comment on here that didn’t like the goonies 😂 anyway it was a banger and you two seemed to dig the vibes and that’s all that matters ✌🏼

Nizate

Damn …I’ve never met a person who didn’t like Gooniez. Interesting

Nizate

Classic movie! War Games another classic from that era :)

CALIXYUKON

Sorry to go negative…. But I never liked this movie. All the kids ever do is scream, all together. Not much storytelling there. And just freaking annoying. But the best decade for movies was the 80s, IMO. So stay in that rabbit hole, please.

Tom Occhipinti

If you guys wanna see another film about a group of kids going on an '80s adventure, be sure to check out Monster Squad.

Jimmie V

I honestly didn't realize Mikey was Samwise :O and the funny ass son in 50 First Dates XD Such a great movie. I used to watch it all the time as a kid and absolutely loved this movie. I was so happy you guys did a reaction video to it :) Happy New Year!! :)

Geminei

Mikey and Bran's dad was a historian. That's why all the artifacts were in that attic. Just like the situation in he movie 'National Treasure.'

Duarte Dunn

Great reactions as always. Following up on that end of the movie conversation. I am pushing 50 soon and there were so many places I went with my friends as kids, and I still haven't told my parents because they would most likely have heart attacks if they even heard one of the many stories lol. I love this movie till this day and again they do not make them like this anymore. Keep these classics coming I am loving it.

Pop_Pop_Taq

if you guys haven't seen it, Super 8 (2011) is another great Stranger Things/Goonies type movie.

Ekk

People like these old movies because Hollywood was still making good movies in the 80's before they got corrupted by woke BS. There are a lot of old movies out there starting in the 1930's that are better than what's coming out now. They had to tell good stories with believable characters because there were no fancy special effects to cover up bad writing and bad acting. Rant over.

Mr Jackpots

Thats Thanos getting thrown off that girls bike with the red head band

TinCan Cosmanaut

I saw this in 1985 when it came out. I was about 20 yrs. old. Good movie. Actor, Big brother, played by actor Josh Brolin has done many movies since. Little brother, actor Sean Astin was part of the Lord of the Rings movies, and he did the movie "Rudy", Actor Corey Feldman, was the bad, smart alec friend. The little Asian boy ( I forgot his name) he just won an Academy Award for movie Everything Everywhere All At Once after not acting for years years. It was a big deal for him. All the kids were good actors. Martha Plimpton, the short haired girl has done a tv series and a lot of movies in the past too.

Teri

I've got good memories watching this with my son when he was younger! Who didn't/doesn't love Sloth? That bit with Chunk saying how he loves him is so cute! When Sean Astin does the speech to one eyed WIlly? You can tell he was going to be a good actor, and reminds me of his Sam Wise speeches, later on in life, sometimes. Ty for doing this, its such a good classic. You should see Josh on Spicy hot ones on youtube that he was on, not long ago. He's one of the most laid back guys I've ever seen! That's what I said!

SilverDoe🎔

Sloth love Chunk! Man I was 5 or 6 and I vaguely remember my Dad taking me to the theater to watch this. It's been many moons since I've watched it, gonna be a nice rewatch with y'all. Fun fact Sean Astin is now 52, his daughter in LoTR's was his real daughter and she graduated Harvard late last year. Time flies by✌❤ fam!

Darth Brooks

I was 15 when this movie came out, so Sean Astin will always be Mikey to me. Then I saw him in Rudy and as Samwise in Lord of the Rings and of course Bob from Stranger Things.

Tara

My favorite character, Rosalita.. found those jewels in Mikey's bag just in time!! and she funny af 😁

PastaDon

The creators of Stranger Things used the kids from this movie as inspiration for the Stranger Things kids. If you remember in Joyce’s house on Stranger Things, they had the drawings all over her house and her boyfriend, Bob, figured out it was a map of the town and marked ❌ on the spot. That was an Easter egg to this movie with Mikey and a treasure map.

Tara

I was never in love with this film like so many others. I feel like it’s just ok. I can’t place my finger on why. At that time I was loving the Karate Kid, the Lost Boys and all the John Hugh’s films. I know a lot of people love it so I hope everyone enjoys your reactions.

Pink Martini AZ

Fun fact! Stef- the short haired girl with the glasses is played by Martha Plimpton.. her father in real life is Keith Carradine who was Lundy on Dexter!! 😁✌️ Just finished watching!! Glad you enjoyed it!!! 🥰

Rebecca Karsner

Mikey is a young Sean Astin - you know him as Samwise Gamgi from the Lord of the Rings and Rudy.. The older brother is Josh Brolin - you know him as Thanos from The Avengers.

Larry Smith

I grew up on this movie in the 80s! A minute into it I HAD to look up one of the brothers and lo and behold it’s Ralph from the Sopranos! Don’t know if anyone has mentioned it but “Fratelli” means “brothers” in Italian. Always thought it funny that these were the “brothers brothers” 😀

Bill B.

So glad you did this one! It really celebrates the magic of childhood adventure! Data grew up and just won a supporting actor last year and his entertainment lawyer is Chunk, who grew up to be an entertainment lawyer in real life. Great reaction as always!

Mary Merry Berry

Omg you guys!! This has been one of my fav movies since I was 6 or 7 so I had to comment before I even watched the reaction because I'm so hype!!

Ekk

Must stop everything and watch this classic with ya'll!!

Angelfish Luva

I was trashed very often when people found out I never saw this movie growing up. Thankfully at 21 I watched it and it mostly stopped.😂😂😂

Cole hauser

Mikey and Brands dad was a curator at the town museum. That is why they had all that old stuff in their attic.

Jay B

PS in case no one mentioned, Mikey is Sam Wise from Lord of the Rings, and his brother, Josh Brolin, is Thanos. lol. Data is the kid from Indiana Jones-Temple of Doom. Mouth(Purple Rain tshirt) is Corey Feldman...also in The Lost Boys. Josh Cohen, Chunk, never appeared in another movie. Hes an entertainment lawyer I believe. iirc. Asia that was hilarious when you said that old lady was Kathy Bates. I lost it. Just imaging that made it funnier. And they really built that water slide and pirate ship specifically for the movie. None of the cast had any idea. So all their reactions to it are real

pkleo73

Ooh, also! The last time I was in Oregon we stopped in the town (Astoria) where Goonies was filmed, we stopped by Mike's house. I feel bad for the people that live there. They have signs up telling people not to step into the yard or up into the driveway, etc. It's not a museum, though they probably knew what they were in for when they bought the place. Not that the owners should have to deal with people walking around their house taking pictures all day every day (I don't even want to think about summertime!) but yikes. I don't think I could handle it. We stayed in the car and I snapped a few pics from the other side of the street, then felt guilty and we drove off. :( It was still cool though.

Andi Szilagyi

YES YES YES!!!!

Riley

When I was a kid, there were a couple boys at my elementary school that made fun of me for having a "boy's name". They were not very teasing creative. Anyway, it made me feel crappy, because I hadn't ever met another girl named Andi. Then I watched this movie, and the fact that not only was a girl character named Andi (though I think it was spelled Andie), but she had a couple really awesome scenes. THEN after my brothers also saw the movie, they would scream "ANDI! YOU GOONIE!" at me to try to get a reaction. But it did not make me feel crappy, it made me feel awesome. -Fin (Thank you SO much for doing this movie!!)

Andi Szilagyi

This one is skipping to the top of my queue. Goonies never say die!

Stacey Capito

I loved Everything Everywhere All At Once!!!

Rebecca Karsner

Mikey is Sam from The Lord of the Rings. Of the 2 criminals, the one that escaped prison was the FBI agent in Die Hard. The other one was the guy in The Matrix who sold them out. Data is Short Round from Indiana Jones.

Jesse McAdams

So glad u r finally doing this movie. And hook is a must see also by Stephen Spielberg

Lewsifer

Such a classic 80s flick. I was in my early teens when it came out and seen it so many times. Great movie for kids

LynnC

A childhood favorite! How can you not love this movie? Glad you two liked it! Your reactions were great. 😂 Another good time watching classic movies with the fam! Trivia for you: Data (Ke Huy Quan) [Short Round from Indiana Jones] also just recently won an Oscar fora movie called EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE which you two should definitely check out. Mikey (Sean Astin) later played Bob in Stranger Things, Samwise Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings movies, and also Rudy (BJ knows). Lastly, there was a reference to GREMLINS in this when the sheriff referred to "creatures that multiply when you get them wet." Great easter egg. Thanks again, Asia and BJ. You two are adorable!

Dustin

God that was fun :) :) I have always loved this film! :)

James Forrest

My childhood was so much like this it's uncanny obviously without all the pirates and stuff like that lol I just mean there was eight of us and we were all best friends and we were from a town that was so small it didn't have a traffic light just one stop sign. We played sports all day and we're at each other's houses all day long their parents were my parents my parents were theirs I had the most amazing childhood anyone could ask for. We still call ourselves the original Goonies. Growing up in the '80s and '90s was awesome it was so much fun. This movie is such a great memory I love watching it

Rio Mendoza

Absolutely

Rio Mendoza

I was obsessed when I was younger and wished me and my friends could've had an awesome adventure like they did!! Can't wait to watch when I get off of work!! Have an awesome day!! "Goonies never say die" 😁🙌✌️

Rebecca Karsner

Yes!! I'm excited for this!!

Rebecca Karsner
