2025-10-05 21:40:28 +0000 UTCThe reason why it cut to Aoyama right at that moment is because all might and AFO were talking about “the light” burning inside All Might going out, but All Might argued that even if his light went out, his actions and refusal to give up sparked a light in the next generation who looked up to him, then they show 2 examples of that in Aoyama who not only has light specific powers but is inspired by the light of his classmates (many of whom were inspired by All Might), and the little kid in a different country who was having a Deku moment watching a hero and wanting him to win. Then All Might himself was inspired by his students in an awesome cycle. Then, to do the most damage to AFO with the power he gave to a quirkless kid in order to use and manipulate his family. It’s poetic. The entire theme of My Hero is being the best version of yourself and taking action, which inspires those that come after you, positively and negatively. The villains inspired each other to rise up against the society that mistreated and rejected them and the heroes were inspired by the heroes they watched fighting to protect people. I think the show definitely fumbles the themes by doing too much at points, but overall it’s such a good story.

2025-10-04 18:58:57 +0000 UTCI'm excited season 8 finally started, but it's a shame the first half of the episode is just the end of season 7 being shown again. I wanted more new material being shown. It might work for people watching the show as it airs and they have a year between seasons, but for anyone who binge watches season 7 and season 8, it will be confusing why the fight is being shown again. The scene with the kid asking about who All Might is was in the manga. The world is watching the war in Japan which is why there have been scenes since season 7 of characters reacting to what is going on. I actually really like that we do get to see everyone watching the battle.
