As his heart beat one last time and then just nothing. I guess I just realised how gruesome and absolutely terrifying that death actually is.

2025-03-01 04:42:24 +0000 UTCYeah, I think I can talk about the episode since it's no longer spoiler now SPOILER OF THE EPISODE AHEAD! during the previous fight between Reinhard and Regulus before being sent to the moon, in the light novel Regulus actually manages to rip off Reinhard's leg with just a sneeze (by stopping the time of the air blown to make it an unstoppable object), and actually made much more damage overall, as it's stated that with each blow he would destroy entire pieces of the city and Subaru was actually parkouring like crazy to avoid his hits. So yeah they downplayed his strength in the adaptation, even though it still shows that is pretty powerful. Another cool detail that has been cut out is that when Regulus is shoved down the earth he doesn't stop his ability just because he has to resume his heartbeat, but also because in that state he can't stop, and since Re:Zero's world is canonically flat he would have kept going until falling off from the world. As from your question about his heart stopping you got it confused, it's not his heart stopping to allow his to freeze time for himself, he can freeze himself regardless of that, however that makes his heart stop as a consequence, which is why he can't maintain it for long if his body is the only place where his heart beats. But he was hyped up since the very beginning of season 2 as an invincible person.. i wonder how him dying doesn’t somehow make time stop considering his heart would stop.. idk.. it fees like a reach.. but i mean.. if it happened. It would make sense, and there isn’t really a way to make the fight more threatening if reingoat is there..

Just imagine falling through the ground at mach 20 knowing that you have to stop your ability and experience the most gruesome fate imaginable or fall through the planet
