Didn’t see anyone mention this, you guys said you would have liked to see the accident where he lost the eye. They do, several times, it’s the first scene, the one where he’s shooting through the bouquet of roses, bleeding from the face, and smiling. The one they flashback to throughout the show. Classic Sci-fi/noir, redefined anime as an art form, truly timeless stuff. Noir is a style of film in the tragedy genre from almost a century ago now... ex-soldier/ex-cop detective buddies. Not too many shows out there like this one. Since you guys seemed to enjoy this and Samurai Champloo, I strongly recommend watching the Cowboy bebop movie, and Space Dandy at some point too. The movie is one of the greatest animated films ever made, and Space Dandy is Shinichiro Watanabe’s third big hit infused with music. He’s the one who did Samurai Champloo/CB, those were hip hop/jazz/blues, Space Dandy is funk/disco Great content as always y’all, looking forward to more
