DEM Chapter 30: No Way, Not the Cliffhanger!
Added 2025-07-19 11:06:07 +0000 UTCAfter Yue Lin left, Su Yuan and Chen Nuoyi stood there, still reeling for a long time.
They hadn’t expected their new dish to attract even a Foundation Establishment teacher.
“We’ve succeeded, right?” Chen Nuoyi whispered, her pretty face flushed with excitement.
“Succeeded? This is a massive success!” Su Yuan corrected her. “Tonight, we’ll put in some overtime and roast two geese. Tomorrow, we’ll rake in over two thousand!”
“Mm!” Chen Nuoyi nodded eagerly.
“But first, let’s eat.”
With a flourish, Su Yuan produced a plate of dragonscale roasted goose like a magician.
This plate wasn’t skimmed off the top; the goose was simply so large that even after selling 100 portions, there was some left over. Su Yuan had generously bought the extra portion.
Naturally, this plate was much larger than a standard serving.
He had to taste the gourmet dish he’d made himself, after all.
Besides the roasted goose, the two, as cafeteria staff, loaded up a huge tray with unsold dishes and dug in ravenously, utterly satisfied.
With so much food, including the dragonscale roasted goose, Su Yuan felt his body brimming with so much spiritual energy that even the blue pill couldn’t digest it quickly.
His Abyssal Bloodline even began actively absorbing the ingested spiritual energy to boost his cultivation.
The first class of the afternoon was a two-hour Cultivation class.
Back in the classroom, five minutes before the lesson started, Su Yuan eagerly rented an artificial spiritual root, slapped the patch on his stomach, and began cultivating.
Under the influence of the Brahma Pure Demon Heart, he entered a meditative state in a second, free of distractions.
His ability to absorb the surrounding spiritual energy was like a crane among chickens.
From the podium, Yue Lin’s brows twitched as he observed Su Yuan, whose cultivation speed had improved dramatically compared to a few days ago.
Based on his years of teaching experience, Su Yuan’s cultivation speed was now on par with the top ten geniuses in Taihua High School’s history for Cultivation class.
Judging by the fluctuations of Su Yuan’s condensed spiritual energy, it was clear he had awakened some kind of bloodline.
“A late bloomer?” Yue Lin mused.
Su Yuan’s progress in Heart of the Dao and his transformation in aptitude proved that this once-unremarkable stone had shed its dull exterior, revealing the jade within.
Though he still lagged behind established prodigies like Chen Nuoyi, he had the potential to catch up.
“In that case, there might be a spot for this kid in the special advancement class.”
Two hours later, as the bell rang, Su Yuan ended his cultivation and checked his progress!
Spiritual Energy: 59.6!
In two hours, he had boosted his spiritual energy by 1.1.
Though aided by the school’s spirit-gathering array, the massive nutrition from the cafeteria, the Abyssal Bloodline, and the Brahma Pure Demon Heart, this cultivation speed was still absurdly fast.
More importantly, he was just a hair’s breadth from the sixth layer of Qi Refining!
Stopping now felt like hitting the brakes right before the climax, leaving Su Yuan itching with frustration.
Gritting his teeth, he renewed the artificial spiritual root for another hour!
There were two classes left in the afternoon: a 40-minute General Knowledge class, a two-hour Martial Arts class, and a total of 20 minutes of break time.
The 20-minute break plus the General Knowledge class made exactly one hour!
Screw General Knowledge!
Cultivate!
Su Yuan settled back into meditation, seizing the still-active spirit-gathering array to cultivate like mad.
Noticing this, Yue Lin’s lips curved slightly. He turned and strode out of the classroom.
As for the spirit-gathering array, only activated during Cultivation class? Forgot to turn it off.
The ten-minute break passed in a flash.
The class bell rang on time, but not a single student was behaving. Some were sneaking snacks, others whispering, and a few studying other subjects.
Anything but General Knowledge.
It wasn’t that they weren’t motivated; General Knowledge was just too easy. They’d learned everything by their second year, so rather than sitting through a dull lecture, they used the time to relax.
However, when a figure stepped into the classroom, the noisy room fell dead silent!
The teacher wasn’t the General Knowledge instructor but… the Martial Arts teacher, Li Ziquan!
Dressed in a tight training outfit, the curvaceous and mature Li Ziquan strode to the podium and said with regret, “Students, the General Knowledge teacher is sick. We’re having Martial Arts class instead.”
Okay, you’re regretful, but why is your mouth practically grinning ear to ear?
A few students let out low sighs.
The moment the sound emerged, Li Ziquan’s face turned icy, her gaze sweeping over the reluctant students in the back like a bolt of lightning.
“You lot, scoring below 80 on the Martial Arts exam, have a problem with Martial Arts class?”
Her voice was like a chilling wind, piercingly cold.
The students snapped to attention, clamping their mouths shut and shaking their heads frantically.
“Everyone, to the field. We’re doing three hours of practical training.”
The students hurriedly got up and filed out of the classroom.
But as everyone left their seats, one person remained unmoved, drawing the class’s attention.
It was Su Yuan, of course, still immersed in cultivation, completely unaware that General Knowledge had been swapped for Martial Arts.
Many classmates shot him sympathetic looks.
Teacher Li, the infamous “Demon King,” was notoriously petty. Studying another subject under her nose? That was like cheating in front of your spouse!
Su Yuan was probably in for a harsh lesson!
Yup, dragged up and thrashed!
But to everyone’s shock, Li Ziquan merely glanced at Su Yuan and coldly ordered, “Move quietly, don’t disturb Su Yuan’s cultivation!”
What?
The students of Class Two were floored.
This double standard was way too blatant!
So when Su Yuan opened his eyes, the classroom was empty.
“What’s going on?”
He checked the time. General Knowledge had just ended, and Martial Arts hadn’t started yet, so he relaxed.
“Did Teacher Li call everyone to the field early?”
Muttering to himself, he hurried to the field, filled with anticipation for the upcoming Martial Arts class.
Because his cultivation had officially reached the sixth layer of Qi Refining!
Heh heh, the quality of his sixth-layer abyssal spiritual energy was a huge leap from before. Whoever got paired with him in practical training was in for a treat!
