I honestly REALLY enjoy when “Camp Meets Drama” because there’s a lot to talk about, usually! But yes, where is my Coach equity in the nudity realm? Just kidding, but if anyone needs to be shedding clothing? AHEM. I wonder now if Viktor from Arcane was inspired by him? Hm. I love the maximalist approach in the art and design department - there is so much color, which for a “mechanical space” show, I am pleasantly surprised by! And yes, the Nightow connection is so there - another reason I’m digging the show! “Delicious Angst” - some really find it tasty, eh? I was NOT expecting to see a connection to Natsume in this show of all shows, but hey, that just makes it cooler, right? Oohh, cannot wait for Episode 3! 😀

Great to see your having a good time with the campy and dramatic elements of the show. And there’s plenty to dissect. “Maybe they will wear more clothes now that we’re in space?” I really snort-laughed here. 🤣 Also #WheresMyCoachDick 🤣🤣 Absolutely agree regarding all the ‘maximalist’ approach to the art and design. Especially love their use of All The Colours 🥰, frames are so much fun to look at and unpack. Also love the design of the space monsters – definitely see the Nightow connection with the fun mix of organic elements: feathers, hairs, claws, teeth, who knows what else, etc. I think maybe because I’ve consumed so much mecha/sci-fi content, time-dilation for me is always an immediate emotional shortcut. The idea that, regardless of the success or the failure of an action, there is the massive cost of human time that’s layered on top?! Delicious angst. Also why I love whenever a version of this comes up in Natsume in terms of the ‘perception of time.’ It’s a fun one to think about in that show, as well, how much of the different perception is maybe yokai ‘literally’ experiencing time differently because they are on a slightly altered plane of existence to the humans. Looking forward to next week! 💙
