Quick note about PLEDGING

Hey everyone~ I have a note about this in my intro, but I wanted to explain a bit more about how pledging works in a public post, so that potential patrons can learn more about it before they pledge.

First of all, there are multiple different types of charging systems for different Patreons, meaning you could pledge to two different people, and get charged in different ways.

My Patreon is on a monthly, charge-up-front system. This means you will be charged immediately when you pledge, and then you will be charged on each 1st of the month while your pledge is active. If you raise your pledge during the month, you will immediately be charged the difference. If you lower it at any time during the month, you will be charged the new amount on the 1st of the next month.

Unfortunately, the system is not very intelligent, which means whether you pledge on the 5th or the 29th, you will be charged again on the 1st. So you could sign up the day before the 1st, hours even, be charged, and then be charged immediately again the minute the 1st arrives.

There is not much I can do in this situation except encourage potential/current patrons to wait until the 1st of the month to pledge or raise their pledge.

I can issue refunds in a limited capacity, but the tool they give creators to issue refunds is not robust (it's basically a small text link we can click, which is sometimes inexplicably not able to be clicked, meaning a refund cannot be processed for circumstances beyond my control and/or understanding.) This link refunds the most recent pledge, revoking access to my Patreon; I can't refund a pledge and allow you to keep access.
