Bonus - Some tips about comic paneling

Some people have asked me for tips about how to panel a comic, and I always have a really hard time answering that because there's so much going on with paneling, and I never formally learned it. I tried to list as many parts of how I work as I could think of, but I probably still missed a lot of things ;w; I didn't really touch on composing the stuff inside the panels as much, because tbh I don't do an amazing job with that stuff (I like staying on eye level too much haha...), so I tried to link some more (better) tips about that here:

Wally Wood's 22 panels that always work: http://articulate-heroes.s3.amazonaws.com/1563.wallywood22panel1600nv6im1.jpg

I found this while googling and it looks super useful: *http://www.smackjeeves.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=13442*
(Edit: Link is broken now unfortunately; apologies for that~)

This page is targeted at storyboarders but you can apply the fundamentals of composing a shot to a comic: http://www.floobynooby.com/comp1.html

I saw a few pages of this posted somewhere and it's full of useful tips; google it and you can find a lot of the pages, if you don't want to buy it: http://www.parkablogs.com/content/book-review-framed-ink-drawing-and-composition-visual-storytellers

I included an attachment of this *huge* image if you just want to download and read, plus a large version of that bit with the comic page examples I collected, so you can see the paneling better :) I've also listed those comics below if you want to check anything out~ I really recommend reading lots of different comics if you want to make comics!

If you have any specific questions or feedback please feel free to comment or send me a note! Thanks!

Thank you for this; it's awesome~

This is soo useful! I use a simple paneling in my comics (and sometimes strips) like, different squares with very short dialogues... but this give me ideas on how to improve so, thank you!

This is incredible just to see how much planning, writing, and effort you put into all that you create. Awesome!!!!

This is so fascinating!!! These posts are like the behind the scenes with the prosthetic's department or set design on a fantasy movie for me - it doesn't matter that my barely artistic self will never do comics I LOVE seeing the rules, technique, and construction!
