2024-03-09 23:42:56 +0000 UTCSome important info: - You know it, but make sure you watch the 3rd movie "Made In Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul", because it's essential, as it's the direct continuation of the story (volumes 4 and 5 of the manga). Season 2 cannot be watched without the movie first. - The depth of the Abyss is still unknown. Here are the layers known to date: . 1st Layer: Edge of the Abyss (Curse: Mild dizziness, Nausea) . 2nd Layer: Forest of Temptation (Curse: Intense nausea, Headaches, Numbness of the extremities) . 3rd Layer: Great Fault (Curse : Vertigo, Visual and auditory hallucinations, Problems with sense of balance) . 4th Layer: The Goblets of Giants (Curse : Intense pain, Bleeding from every orifice) . 5th Layer: Sea of Corpses (Curse : Loss of all senses, Confusion, Self-harm) . 6th Layer: The Capital of the Unreturned (Curse : Loss of Humanity or Death =>so it's the point of no return, you can't ascent it) . 7th Layer: The Final Maelstrom (Curse : Alleged certain death). Ozen mentioned a mysterious ring in this layer. - Nanachi's house is on the 4th layer. The trio head for the Ido Front on the 5th layer you've seen in this ep. - Where Bondrews brings Mitty and Nanachi down is just an elevated dead end cavern on the 6th Layer. Note that while Mitty suffered the curse of the 6th Layer, something else happened to Nanachi. This experience seems to have confirmed something for Bondrewd. You'll learn more on this later. - Kevin Penkin deserves every award for his masterly work on Made in Abyss. The most beautiful, well-crafted OST I've ever heard.

2024-03-09 18:21:17 +0000 UTCFrom what I've seen, it appears that the rest of the world either isn't doing great or is heavily reliant on the discoveries of the Abyss since it was found. Teacher said something about foreign cave raiders being the ones who attacked Lyza and killed Riko's dad, so there is definitely some outside factions vying for the resources found in the Abyss.

I don't think it's mentioned in the show but with Nanachi being a dumpster diver before and always being told she smelt bad, one of the blessings she received from the Abyss, beyond her becoming fluffy, was how she now smells good to everyone.
