I have so much respect for Britt owning that the bow and axes are both incorrect, but I want to shout her out for having one of the most (if not THE most outright) accurate looms I’ve yet seen from the animator community. There are some animatics I’ve seen where it is very obvious the animator has never seen a loom in action, and definitely not the warp-weighted loom that would have been used at the time, which Britt has shown here. Brava!

2025-01-31 15:57:24 +0000 UTCOh my god I just realized that Penelope had short hair in the flashback when Odysseus last saw her. Calypso cut her hair during the timeskip... to look like Penelope. That is such great storytelling done with the designs. Britt is absolutely amazing

I think she subconsciously manipulated me though, because I'm playing with some Penelope book ideas for the the 20y time frame (i have writers block on my other project) and was brainstorming with an AI to get myths and stuff accurate, and literally titled like 9 books to span over 20y including Odysseus return. Wrote 600 words while my boys were at gymnastics, literally with Penelope hugging Odysseus at the docks (though Telemachus is in her arms). They hug, say a few loving words, he leaves, and she stands there watching the ships long past when they disappeare. 1st she vows to the gods to destroy them and world if Odysseus doesnt come one. Then looks down and infant Telemachus and promises him that should danger befall him, she would the world to find Odysseus and destroy the world with him. And then hands Telemachus to the nurse to bring him to the nursery, so she can allow her emotions free and take note of all the scheming people she had noted since Odysseus announced he was going to Troy. If i do keep this in the works, we will see her thrmwsrt assassinations, build a small following of loyal servants and women to care for her son, and build a spy network, how she thwarts being married to the first available suitor, how things like her mother in laws death affected her, how she's been poisoning and killing suitors slowly over the years since she came up with the shroud excuse always keeping the suitors at the same number. And the moment she recognized Odysseus in disguise and secretly helps him with out his notice (she poisons the suitors food so much that we have the hold them down song) and after she watches Odysseus big reveal of who he is, she walks back to her room to await the man killing for their kingdom and family, knowing she's going from protecting the kingdom for Odysseus to protecting and Healing and Loving her husband once more). Sorry long winded. Story concept i created today because writers block is evil (and I don't want to write icky Zeus scene with Calypso watching her memory self and have her magic erase the scene) [yes lots of mythology creative liberty writing, tackling mental health and other things not normal written in booms]
