A war fought with hatered will kill many, but a love for war may kill all.

Prologue

The war between the humans and elves lasted nearly 300 years. The fledgling race of humanity was losing its morale in the face of an enemy that seemed to persist against all efforts. The elves used their greatest weapon to their advantage. Time. They stalled battle, and their ingenious tactic was working. Humans, in their desire for a quick victory, began to lose heart. Until he came. Humanity knew they were fighting a race blessed by Valor, so the elected leaders of humanity made a deal. The ancient demon Kaz-Karden offered them a weapon. A dangerous one. A dream. All humans would share a dream of war for as long as they deemed the elves an enemy. So humanity became a people of one cause. To defeat the elves. A race who lived for war.

And Kaz-Karden smiled.

The War might have never ended... but there is more than evil at work in this world.

A boy awoke, and he didn't dream of war. He dreamt of a girl.

Some ideas:

A soldier is witness to a tragic attack on his hometown from the elves that destroys everything he knew and loved. His hatred of elves is challenged when he meets an elf who refuses to fight him.

An elf maiden whose life is not her own is set to end humanity and instead works to end the war.

An elf prince is given the burden of finding a bride to maintain his families political power.

An imp with a grudge sees her chance at revenge when she learns something terrible.

A boy who dreams of a girl runs away from home to find her.

Opening: The elf prince and the soldier sit on a small sand bar in the middle of an ocean. They are both near starving and begin to talk about their regrets. The soldier regrets never getting to start a family because he devoted his whole life to war. The Elf prince states he regrets spending his whole life trying to gain his father's approval. The Elf begins to feel a darkness engulf him when he suddenly hears the sound of footsteps on the sand.

The boat: The elf maiden, the boy and the imp Awaken the elf prince and the solider. The Elf prince convinces the elf maiden to take the solider with them. The group now discusses their plans to travel to the Ebony Tables, the home of the metafell, to destroy the dream stone. A magical weapon Kaz-Karden uses to cast his dream to humanity. The group know that it is in the deepest dungeon, and so they'll need to figure out a way to sneak their way into the most dangerous place on the Ebony Tables. They explain this to the soldier who doesn't realise the dreams of war were caused by a demon. The soilder says he won't fight the group but he can't be a part of their plan.

At sea: The group is attacked by a human warship. The group is captured and taken prisoner. Except for the soldier who explains that he fell off a ship fighting the elf prince and vouches for the prince being a pacifist. The Elf maiden begs the soldier to help them escape and eludes to the fact that there is a powerful demon after the imp. The soilder tries to put her at ease that the warship is capable of even defending from an elvish assault. The elf maiden says that this demon is more dangerous than that, and the soilder finally says that he doesn't trust her.

Vazneir: The ship is attacked by a massive creature that seems immune to the magic of the warships mages. In the meantime, the boat is damaged and begins to take on water. The soilder asks the elf maiden how to stop the demon. The imp explains that the demon is hydraborn and consumes ordinary magic. The imp can convert magic to damage the demon, but the soilder would have to release them. The elf maiden and the imp launch a beam that pierces the demon. They then explain that the demon will continue to attack the ship as long as thier on it. The group hops onto their ship, which is being towed by the warship and separates with he help of the soilder who is seen as a traitor and fails to explain why he has to let the group escape. The massive demon now shows its true form and begins to control the soldiers on board to begin to kill one another. The soilder suddenly attacks the group but is restained by the elvish princes magic, and the soilder is taken aboard. The group then begins to sail away and is pursued by the demon. The elf maiden launches another attack, which finally dissuades the demon who says he'll be back and retreats.

The night: The soilder awakes, and it's explained that the ancient demons can cause any human under the effect of the dream to become mindlessly violent. The soilder now believes some of what they say and ask why the boy is unaffected. They are unsure why, but they explain that he no longer dreams of war and instead dreams of a girl who says she is near the dream stone. The boy wants to meet her, and this would also allow the group to destroy it. The soilder says that he still isn't completely sure of what is happening, but as long as he doesn't have to fight humans, he'll help the group. The group assures him that he shouldn't have to fight anyone but metafell. The elf prince says it's one group he has no issue with killing because it doesn't kill them permanently. The spilder asks why the elf prince won't kill. The elf prince explains that his brothers deserted the elvish army and that they explained that the human behavior was due to magic. The elf prince explains that it would be unethical to kill someone who isn't completely in control of themselves. The soilder asked what the prince would do if someone he loved was in danger. The prince said he doesn't have anyone he'd kill for. The soilder says that everyone he'd kill for is already dead. The prince explains that he's never had many friends and definitely never been close enough to feel like he'd kill to defend them.
The elf maiden explains that they were going to have to stop by an elvish port for supplies that were removed when they were captured by the warship. The soilder asks if they thought that was a good idea. The elves explained that they could disguise the humans as elves even if their ship was searched.

The elvish port 1: The group stops by for supplies, which the elvish prince is able to pay for. While in port, the boy and the soilder(disguised as elves) unknowingly wander into an elvish brothel. The boy is too timid to stay, but the soilder is taken in by a beautiful elf woman. The soilder talks with the women about the war and learns the attitude of the elves towards the war is one of sorrow rather than hatred. The elves mourn the loss of human life nearly as much as the loss of their own people. The soilder asks why they don't just sue for peace, and the elf women laugh and state that the elves have tried every year for nearly 30 years but that humanity is much too war hungry. The soilder wonders if this is true and then realises that his disguise was beginning to wear off. This was a sign that something had happened to the elven prince. The elf woman screams as the soilder runs out of the room and rushes towards the port.

The elvish port 2: The elvish maiden is seen battling against a swarm of metafell that is attacking the ship. The elvish prince appears to be knocked out and is being carried away by a pair of elves with demonic expressions. The soilder arrives to see the scene and is able to free the prince. Then a squad of elvish soldiers arrives and begins to launch spells at the soilder who got reports of a human in a soilders uniform. The human takes several magical spells to protect the elvish prince. This burns off the soilders uniform which had some protection but has still left the soilder crippled. The elvish maiden raises a shield around the 2 and tells the soilder to get aboard. The group are able to escape as the elvish soilders begin to divide their assault between the boat and the rouge metafell.once at sea it's explained that the imp was killed and they would need to meet up with her at the Ebony Tables once she respawned. The soilder asked what would happen if they were attacked by the ancient demon. The elf maiden says they would have to hope they could make it to the tabels before that happened.

Vazneir 2: The group has enough supplies now to make it to the Ebony Tables but is attacked by the ancient demon. The group is powerless to stop the demon until the boy begins to speak in a strange voice and uses a spell that causes the demon to scream in pain. The boy then tells the group to attack. After this, the demon becomes vulnerable, and the demon states its name is Vazneir. The elves do their best, but the demon is still incredibly powerful. The boy then returns to normal and seems to have no memory of what happened. The soilder works with the prince, and as they begin to take an upper hand, the demon explains to the prince that if he dies, he will not respawn. This causes the prince to hesitate, and the demon gravely injures him. The soilder is enraged that the demon took advantage of the princes' kindness and attacks the demon. The demon is pushed back before the demon laughs and causes the soilder to begin to go beserk with rage. The elf maiden during this time has been casting a spell she hopes has enough power to kill the demon. The human then rushes at the elf maiden but is grabbed by the boy who the soilder beats savagely. The demon then tries to attack the elf maiden when the prince pierces the demons body, distracting the demon long enough for the elf maiden to cast her spell and finish off the dem This causes the soilder to return to his senses only to see that the boy has been beaten nearly to death. The soilder works with the elf maiden to try and save the boy the princes life but states she isn't sure the prince will survive. The soilder feels a tremendous amount of guilt that if he had just stayed in control, the demon would have been defeated before the prince had to cast his last spell.

The maiden and the soilder: the two physically capable members of the group steer the ship towards the Ebony table, unsure whether the prince will survive. The elf maiden tries to comfort the soilder but makes very little progress. The soilder explains that since discovering that the demons have this kind of control over him, he feels trapped. The elf maiden explains she understands and that she has spent her whole life under constant supervision. She was the last daughter of the house of elves known as Elinion. The soilder is surprised as the stories of her family were thought as a myth to intimidate people. The Elinion were responsible for magic that changed the face of the planet. The maiden explains that it was true but that the magic took the life of the user, and so both her parents had passed away. She then explains that her original purpose for leaving home was as a weapon to be dropped onto the human most populated city. The soilder is horrified and asked if she plans on following though one day. The maiden says that her whole life had been controlled, and she would just let them control her death. This bolsters the soilders resolve and says he believes the prince will pull through and that they will destroy the dream stone.

The port of darkens is: the ship pulls into the Ebony table port, and although the boy is awake, the prince isn't. The group manages to evade the metafell that try to attack them at the port and hide at an inn. The Ebony Tables are not friendly to humans, so the soilder and boy are disguised as elves. As they wait for the prince to recover, they are informed of a bounty out for each of them. The group are approached by the owner of the inn, who explains that he takes issue with the local Overboss and refuses to turn them in. The group ask if the inn keep knows where their imp friend is, and the inn keeper explains that a bounty went up for the imp earlier but that it doesn't appear they've been captured yet.
