My issue with the character of Riri Williams is how quickly she’s positioned as the next “Iron Man” without truly earning it. Yes, she’s a genius, but her introduction in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever felt abrupt and unearned — almost like Marvel was saying, “Here’s your new Iron Man. She’s brilliant, she’s badass. Just go with it.” There wasn’t enough organic development or emotional grounding to make that transition feel satisfying.
This reminds me of how Captain Marvel was introduced — fast-tracked into the MCU with little setup, yet expected to carry enormous weight. It’s less about disliking the characters themselves and more about how they’re introduced: too much exposition, not enough earned progression.
Frankly, I’ve never found the comic version of Riri particularly compelling either, and her MCU counterpart hasn’t changed that perception. She feels redundant — another armored genius hero stepping into Stark’s shoes, but without the years of layered storytelling that made Tony resonate.
If Marvel was intent on continuing Stark’s legacy, Harley Keener — the kid from Iron Man 3 — would’ve been a more interesting and emotionally consistent choice. His connection to Tony was already established, and he could’ve grown into the role in a way that felt natural and satisfying
Not to to mention how formulaic and fragmented the Disney+ shows are
Many feel like Frankenstein projects: too short to function as full-fledged shows, yet too drawn out to be satisfying films. Characters are being introduced rapidly, with the expectation that audiences immediately accept and invest in them — but storytelling doesn’t work that way. It takes time, nuance, and earned moments, which the MCU used to do so well..

Right there with y'all about episode 1. Fortunately, the next 2 were much better, for me.

so I am confuse..when we want to have shows that have black people culture is wrong but we can see all of white culture and be 100% ok with that. I understand some of the black talk be too much but this is how certain black ppl actually act in some communities, whats wrong with showing that? I feel like we harp on this too much as a society when it comes to people of color. Black panther is great because its african right not black american.
