THE CLONE WARS #105: 5x16 (The Lawless) FULL Reaction

Comments

And just to add some more disrespect, Palpatine prefers the power of the force over lightsaber combat so the fact he kicks ass in a style that's beneath him, his sabers are made from a special material that's usually used for high ranking master's lightsabers like Windu's so he is low-key disrespecting the Jedi. Palpatine isn't my favorite Sith Lord, not even top 3 but he stands on business πŸ˜‚

This was a great arc, not my favorite, but still a great arc. It had some good moments.

Yeah Palpatine is Vaders master for a reason. Hell, he's all their masters for a reason. He is the one who made all this happened. He is the ultimate master of the Sith. Now something important though, is why Palpatine decided to come himself and personally deal with Maul. Thats because Maul became enough of a threat. Mauls criminal Empire could absolutely interfere with his plans to conquer the galaxy. Maul is one of the most gifted Sith out there. After Savage was killed, his anger once again made him a match for Palpatine. Not enough to win of course, but you can see a switch where Palpatine had to put in more effort to defeat Maul once the Dark Saber came out. If he was never injured, Maul mightve been one of the most powerful Sith apprentices ever, you can see his tactical mind, his mastery of lightsaber combat, and his power with the force. If he had his whole body and stayed with Palpatine, who knows how far he would've flown. I feel really bad for Savage, remember that the Nightsisters used magic to brainwash him and made him this aggressive killing machine. He was a decent person before. Thats what the green stuff was. The magic leaving him as he was dying. Poor guy got used to the very end. The next arc is probably the best of thr Clone Wars, just you guys wait!

OK let's get into this. First off there is NO ONE above Palpatine. He is THE Sith Lord. Dooku is his current apprentice and as he stated in this episode, "There can be only two -- a master and an apprentice". The continuation of that famous line is of course, "... no more, no less." And second, Bo-Katan is Sateen's sister which I was surprised that the fellas knew that after all this time. And lastly, in the beginning of the show there was a memoriam for Ian Ambercrombie who was the voice actor for Emperor Palpatine in this series. He finished the rest of his lines for Clone Wars prior to passing but this episode so prominently featured Palpatine in all his glory that it was most fitting to remember him here. Also the voice actor for Maul is Sam Witwer who himself is an incredible talent and has been in many shows and movies not to mention he not only voice acted but also was the face and body model for the main character in the games SW: The Force Unleashed 1 and 2. On top of ALL that he's a rabid fan of SW and nearly a historian of the lore (I appreciate that of course :)) and he also voiced "The Son" in the Mortis trilogy we saw a while back about the planet where The Father, The Son and The Daughter resided (clear Christian influence just like the original films written by George Lucas depicting Vader, his son Luke and the Force (Holy Spirit)). So Witwer has voice 2 iconic characters SO FAR in the animated series but he's not done yet. MINOR SPOILER: Later on in Rebels he will actually voice Palpatine and do an incredible and respectful job impersonating Ian Ambercrombie as well. Look up Sam Witwer. The dude is great and humble and his other work like the Being Human (US) TV series was awesome.

Palpatine/Darth Sidious had his own master who he killed, in line with the Sith rule of 2 (referenced in this episode) created by Darth Bane. His master was Darth Plaguis/Hego Demask, a munn, former head of the intergalatic banking clan .
