I think they skipped it in the show because it didn't add anything to the story, but it was hilarious and one of the scenes I saw that made me watch Critical Role between season 2 and 3. Laura threatened Travis in real life not in game. 🤣

Sam didn’t think this campaign would be more than one game so he just copied Eminem: “Scanlan Shorthalt” is alliterative like Marshall Mathers; in the campaign, Scanlan was “discovered” as a musician by Dr. DRAnzel, like how Eminem was discovered by Dr. Dre. By sheer luck, even “Kaylie” fit bc Eminem’s daughter is Haylie This thing won’t work at every table, because some people want tighter control of their backstories, but Sam and Matt trust each other to do this. As for the teleportation into Umbrasyl, the show significantly de-powered the party’s spell casting. Scanlan at this point could use a spell that Liam mentioned, Dimension Door, and teleport 500 ft with another person. That would be really powerful in the show, letting him get out of trouble and sneak around, so they took that away. Otherwise, we see at the table it was Vaxs idea not Acankan, and they have a rod, not a sword Oh, and when Liam mentions a cube…that is Scanlan’s private parts. In canon, his parts are shaped like a cube. Why? Because Sam thought it would be funny. Same reason why Scanlan is canonically 69 years old. That’s our boy.
