As explained about Tengu in ep3 comment, Tengu is described as extreme anti-Buddhist character, but it also appears a lot as a role of succumbing to the sacred spiritualities of monks or realizing his weakness. So basically Tengu is very wicked youkai, but is always afraid of priests and Maitreya, meant to be defeated by them. Genya's connection to Buddhism was first shown in the Rengoku arc. In the mugentrain arc, after Rengoku's death, the camera briefly shows him with Kyomei, who obviously appears to be a monk. In season3 episode 4, You can see Aizetsu asking over and over again why Genya doesn't simply die. This is to give the audience time to wonder why Genya regrows teeth after losing them, and doesn't die when pierced by a spear. but after keep spending screen time on this question, Genya's answer seems bit off to the point. 00:15:40 My name is Shinazugawa Genya, It's the name of the man who will kill you. but the thing is, it's not beating about the bush just throwing shonen manga cliché, It was a scene where Genya answered in his own way to question; Why aren't you dying. 不死川(shinazugawa) 玄弥(genya). Shinazugawa brothers' family name contains 不(yet, non),死(death)shinazu. And 玄弥(genya) is 玄(black, dark),弥(Maitreya). So let's see this scene again with background. 00:15:40 Aizets: Are you still alive? What is this.. What the hell are you? you are...! Genya: 皆是大阿羅漢 衆所知識長老舍利弗... My name is Shinazugawa不死川 Genya玄弥 It's the name of the man who will kill you. Unpacking the kanji line here will be, 'The black Maitreya Buddha who doesn't die even if killed will kill you.' Then what is Genya chant every time he rises from the dead? 佛說阿彌陀經(bussetsuamidakyou). aka Amita Sutra. Genya recites part of it, twice in this episode, The interpretation of Genya's chanting will be 00:11:50 舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園 與大比丘僧千二百五十人俱 At the Jetavana-vihāra of Śrāvastī, There were gathering of great Bhikshus, twelvehundredfifty in all. 00:15:15 皆是大阿羅漢 衆所知識長老舍利弗 They are the Great Arhats, the Elder Śāriputra known to all. So Genya who has Buddhist attributes, and Aizetsu, a tengu, are fight each other, and Aizetsu is afraid of Genya and his ominous ability, All of these presentaion is following Buddhism motifs. But what are these metaphors trying to say? Why among the four other tengu, is Aizetsu got that role? Why did Genya chant bussetsuamidakyou? I'll explain where these metaphors lead the narrative, covering Hantengu and Genya in more detail at following episodes.

I agree about Tanjiro's fight with the bird. Tanjiro kept talking about how he was gonna get there, and I'm just thinking, "Then why don't you?" 😂 Kanroji is too good haha. She definitely is in the wrong genre, but she's still kicking ass
