I'm pretty sure Mao was focusing his attention on Lulu, not actually affecting his power.

2024-08-22 04:30:11 +0000 UTCIronically it is becuase of Suzaku's actions that japanese forces didn't expend thier resources and truly surrender. Due to this the resistance is fiercer here than any of the other occupied areas.

2024-08-22 04:28:17 +0000 UTCThe Suzaku revelation felt like it came out of left field to me personally because of pacing reasons, but the scene with Cornelia and Euphie at the villa has something endearing about it to me. Maybe it is because the two talk about the childhoods of others in the royal family, and it seemed to me like there they were hinting at how they all liked Lelouch's mother Marianne.

2024-06-26 19:27:44 +0000 UTCTwo big truth bombs in this episode. First being Cornelia's personal motivations in Japan are one partially driven by tribal vengeance because she believes that the Japanese people killed three of her siblings: Nunnally, Lelouch, and Clovis. Since all three of these are technically false (Lelouch and Nunnally are secretly alive, and Lelouch is the one who killed Clovis) how would learning the truth effect her? Second being that Prime Minister Kururugi was defiant and was dedicated to resisting Britannia to the bitter end, was murdered by his naΓ―ve and idealistic son, Suzaku, and all of the surviving Japanese elites (like those in the Kyoto group) all knew the truth but kept it secret for reasons of honor and personal profit.

2024-06-26 17:10:26 +0000 UTC- I don't recall any information implying that Suzaku's dad was abusive. Basically, kid Suzaku (naively) thought that surrendering would lead to less deaths because his father was prepared to lead the military to fight to their last breath. - Suzaku's super human prowess was barely touched on in one of the earlier episodes where Loid basically said they wouldn't find another pilot as good as him for the Lancelot (ep 4: 'He had an operational efficiency of 94%! How do we replace that?') - Suzaku is probably more OP physically than Lelouch is OP strategically when you 'powerscale' feats to similar characters, in universe π

2024-06-26 04:04:50 +0000 UTCAlso fun fact, Susaku revelation is basicly that during Britannia's invasion Japan's militery defenses where breached but they still had their full army to fight back, Suzaku not understanding the situation assumed that the war will end if his father surrendered. But what it caused is all out confusion amongs the army and the massacre of hundreads of lives. Suzaku basically handed over Japan to Britannia on a silver platter.
