I need to confess something that might be a bit controversial (or maybe not something you’ll love). That’s why I’d really like to hear your completely honest opinion: I used AI for the backgrounds in the second and third panels (the forest with the house, and the wide shot of the house).

To clarify: I used AI as a tool. I downloaded a 3D model of the house in Blender, took a screenshot of it, then sketched a very rough idea of what I wanted around it, and asked the AI to fill it in. Honestly, it’s scary how well it works and how accurately it follows my directions. After that, I used the generated image as reference and repainted the entire background in my own style.

I can’t help but feel a little guilty about this, but I realized those two backgrounds are actually irrelevant to the story. At the same time, they’re full landscapes and detailed structures—and most viewers probably won’t spend more than a second looking at them. So, to optimize my very limited time, I decided to do it this way.

I’d really love to hear your thoughts: do you think it’s okay? Do the backgrounds look too “AI”? And do you agree with my reasoning? Please, I’m open to all kinds of feedback (as long as it’s respectful)!

I’m honestly loving how this is turning out! One of the best things about working on my own comics is the freedom to experiment as much as I want—with both the art and the storytelling—without being tied down to a specific style or forced to keep the character or their stories consistent.
