lets not forget, itachi put kakashi through the Tsukuyomi and put him in a coma for a week in og naruto.... almost killed him. put sasuke through it mulitple times... hes still a villian to me.

Seeing how much Itachi loved his brother, it must have been very hard for him to do all this. The man literally came back to the Village during OG Naruto to show Danzo that he is still alive and not to touch Sasuke, but he went and broke his little brothers arm and tortured him again with the Tsukuyomi I think? Who suffered more here, Itachi or Sasuke... After all this, Sasuke had every opportunity to return to the Village. Being sort of a hero for killing Orochimaru AND Itachi. But well, it never is easy with him considering his emotionally fucked up childhood. Another little info: Taka means Hawk or Falcon.

Many people actually started to dislike Sasuke from this point onward, saying "oh if he cared so much for Itachi, he would follow in his footsteps and defend the village". To me personally his actions, emotions etc from this moment onward are completely understandable, if you have any sort of empathy you can see how Sasuke has been messed up ever since the Uchiha genocide, let alone after finding all this out. And to him it's probably not just the fact that his beloved, older brother lived a tortured life, but also that the village basically killed his entire surroundings and that after having used revenge as a reason to live, he falls back into old habits. Not saying I would be the same, but then again I have never gone through anything remotely close to what he's going through so, who are we to judge?

And even then he only lost because he chose to die by Sasuke. Itachi's life was so tragic. The worst thing is, from the outsider perspective, that solution was the best one. Pin it all on one individual. Uchiha threat is gone. Village is absolved from any blame. Another angle to consider - Uchiha could have just packed and left the village. Instead, they chose revenge and coup d'etat. The folly and cursed nature of the Uchiha clan is a big theme in this anime
