2025-03-02 01:49:14 +0000 UTCFabulous episode, fabulous reaction. So, a few things... Kimiko didn't get her powers back. In the scene when she's talking with Frenchie after getting them away from Nina, you didn't have the subtitles so you couldn't have known, but she says, "It was always me. I blamed the V for making me a monster, but that's not true. It's just who I am." So, she's saying that even now, V free, she "acted like a monster" when she killed the dude. (I don't agree, of course. She saved Frenchie and Cherie and she's a hero. ❤️) But that dialogue combined with the fact that she's not healing at all, shows that when Soldier Boy's nuclear blast takes away supes powers, they don't come back. Which is important to know, cause if we take Homelander's powers we want to be sure he won't just have them come right back. He's as strong as SB, so the blast itself probably wouldn't take him out either (just like it doesn't seem to affect SB and it didn't kill Kimiko) So, we'd need him to be completely powerless so we can just like, shoot him or something. Secondly, MM's story is heartbreaking, and I get his need for vengeance, but what is he thinking trying to get into a fist fight with SB? Like, sweetie, no. He would end you in two seconds. But at least I can understand how his heartbreak, and years of OCD and PTSD are driving his actions. Annie, on the other hand, fully pissed me off here. Once again. Because, she's not cutting Hughie any slack, not even TRYING to see it from his point of view, or understand why he thinks working with SB is the lesser of two evils (which it ABSOLUTELY is!) and a legitimate way to save her (and quite frankly the world) from Homelander. But the thing she does that pisses me off the MOST in this episode is that she SEEKS OUT Blue Hawk to help. BLUE HAWK!! The guy who is easily JUST as racist and fucked up as Soldier Boy, if not more so. Because Blue Hawk has had the advantage of living in modern times, he's had the benefit of learning modern ideas and watching societal change and growth as it unfolds and he STILL espouses these disgusting white supremacist attitudes. Soldier Boy, however, is literally a friggin' grandpa that's been locked away for forty years, and given absolutely NO chance for growth. Now, please don't misunderstand, I'm not saying SB would have been some kind of social justice warrior, or champion of the people if he'd been free over the last forty years and able to see attitudes change and grow. Given the way supes are treated/worshipped, he likely wouldn't have changed. I'm simply saying that it pisses me off that Annie reached out to Blue Hawk to work with her to help her get people safe from Homelander, when he's JUST as bad if not worse than SB. But she's all up on her high horse over Butcher and Hughie trying to use SB to help them stop the terror of the world. Whatever, her character just continues to piss me off. I just think she's acting so morally superior and it's annoying. And yes, her exposing Homelander is brave kind of, but I agree, also pretty stupid. To me, that's more of her "my way is the only right way" thinking coming out. The three way fight was incredible, and yeah, I think SB was a little weaker, and then couldn't fry Homelander in time, cause he'd just detonated, and he needed a bit more time to recharge before he could go full blast again. But, you're right, they definitely did bruise Homelander for the first time. Progress. 😊 Great reaction, can't wait for more! ❤️

And right after that part, SB says he *wanted* kids with Crimson Countess, not that they *had* kids. 2. It's such a shame that you still don't have subtitles for Kimiko's scenes :( Her scenes with Frenchie this season are very important for understanding their relationship, and its not always clear what she says from Frenchie's responses, so the subtitles for her lines are crucial. 3. I agree with you that even though Starlight is frustrated, what she did at the end there makes no logical sense. And her having zero empathy for Hughie while she expects the opposite from him is a bit...annoying too. And lastly if I may, I think it's better when you pause to discuss or comment on something so that you don't miss any dialogue - just my two cents :)

Hearing all these little mentions from Soldier Boy about founding Herogasm with Stormfront (Liberty) makes me super excited about The Boys prequel they're making about Soldier Boy and Stormfront in the 50s and early days of Vought. It's going to be so cool to watch how Vought became what it is now and what role Soldier Boy had in that.

Jensen has some stories to tell about the set of Herogasm.... Denver J2 Gold panel is where he first talked about it... (first con after covid break) and the hype started there...
