The Boys 3x05 - "The Last Time to Look on This World of Lies" FULL REACTION

Comments

Annie just being the good old Annie we know . I'm on Butcher side. But Annie basically a female Superman. She wants to do things the right way . She is being true to her character. It's not popular but Annie has been this way sense the beginning.

Oh Kripke you've predicted real world stuff again... The Deep firing Crime Analytics is giving M*sk vibes right now... except that's a corporation and not government. Not to mention Homelander/Trump parallels... We finally get to see more Soldier Boy in this ep, and he finally speaks! lol. You're right in the fact she did say 'Ben' which is his real name. I am very much looking forward to next episode. It was very much hyped up because it's based off of one of the most known comics from The Boys.

No, I'm 100% with you about Annie. It makes no sense to me, how she fails to see that using SB as the weapon, is their solution to taking out Homelander. Like is it an ideal situation? No. But it's frustrating to me that neither she nor MM (who does have the very valid excuse of his PTSD and traumas) can understand that beating Homelander without extra power is pretty much impossible. Beating other supes while powerless? Okay, maybe. But not Homelander! He's a sociopathic, cruel, power-hungry, unstoppable force of destruction. Soldier Boy is an asshole, who's done terrible things that (like many other supes) he should be held accountable for. But after seeing the beginning of this episode, I was like, okay, so he was held and tortured for 40 years (or maybe tortured for twenty/held for twenty, we don't know for sure.) That forty years of captivity and torture has to go SOME distance to paying that debt. I'm not excusing the things he did, I'm saying he's paid a penalty, a big one. So, working with him to take out Homelander, and then figuring out what to do with him after that, seems like a no brainer, and Annie majorly pisses me off with her moral high horse. I also felt Ike she was being really flippant with Ashley's life when she was like, "You don't need powers, you just need to be human." Easy to say when you HAVE powers. Again, I just felt like she fully, DIDN'T get it. 🫤 I also get why she's mad at Hughie...kinda. But again, I feel like she's refusing to try and understand. He's desperate not to lose her, not to just have to standby while Homelander ends her, so her saying "I don't need you to save me, I just need you." - like I get it. But how would she feel if things were reversed and she were helpless to save him. She'd likely do whatever she needed to as well. Anyway, just wanted to say, Annie pissed me off here too. 🫤 Loved Kimiko and Frenchie's dance number. So weird, but so cute. 😊 I also loved Paul Reiser as The Legend. He was hilarious, and a bit horrifying all rolled into one.
