@MegumiMary Im sorry for everything rowling did to you and i fully support your view, but i still see a problem here. Dumbledore is her character. she created him and she has the right to change him however she wants to. Again, we must not boycott a piece of art (which it is!) just because we dont agree with her social views.

NO DON'T WATCH THE VACCINATION SPECIAL WITHOUT CONTEXT!!!!!!!!!!! YOU NEED TO WATCH SO MUCH BEFORE THAT! Even if you decide to forgo all the important episodes of South Part that build up all the Lore before the Specials The first Special was the Covid Special! The Covid Special itself was a sequel to an episode from a previous season that was part of a season long arc that was a continuation of a character's devolvment into becoming a horrible person after making a significant life move..... There should be a list somewhere of "Canon" episodes that you should watch before Season 18 and then you should watch everything from Season 18 onwards before the Specials come up! Of course this is only if you want to actually follow the plot clearly and if you're fine with only understanding half of the jokes then by all means jump into the deep end with the 2nd half of a story that was a follow up to an episode from a previous season.... God they are going to be so clueless about Garrison....

I'm trans and while I also hate Rowling with a Passion I think we need to direct it to the right places Past Projects before her bigoted views were well established are fine to enjoy- there's actually a lot of good themes about misinformation and fake news- along with a character in book/movie 5 who is basically what Rowling is today that plays a major antagonistic role So are current Projects Rowling has no involvment in: Hogwarts Legacy and Quiditch Champions (Both of Which had positive trans representation as a middle finger to Rowling) WHERE WE MUST DRAW THE LINE IS THE NEW MAX SERIES! Rowling is playing a massive part in the production of the new series and she is reportedly retconning Dumbledore into being openly transphobic- this series more than anything is the perfect litmus test for proving that While HP has staying power ROWLING DOES NOT!

This has nothing to do with anything! You can think about an author of a book what you want, but you have to apprechiate the piece of art she created. and the movies are not even created by her. Boycotting her creations just because you have a different political or social view is just stupid and intellectually dishonest.
