As he said "Because Vegeta is supposed to be written as an absolute asshole here and gets beaten up hard because of it".

2023-06-24 18:54:33 +0000 UTCI mean to be fair, there's a good argument to be had that Gohan never wanted to fight. Likely the main reason he joined to fight was to spend time with his dad Goku, who only wanted to fight and train. And also because Gohan gets a crazy adrenaline boost(or whatever is best to call it), when he gets mad he can take on people a lot stronger than him normally(Radditz, Freeza etc). And many times when Gohan does fight it's extremely traumatic for him especially being a kid. I mean for anyone who watched og dragon ball, Goku did experience loss as a kid, but not as much as Gohan has had to. Since without Chi-Chi, Gohan would likely only learn to fight. Piccolo was there to help him learn while Goku was dead, for whatever that's worth. I mean Piccolo did take Gohan, I don't think Piccolo got Chi-Chi's permission(as well as Goku's to do that,) but yeah Gohan did learn a lot from him anyways. But yeah unfortunately the dragon ball series, or fortunately depending on what you like, the series is very focused on the fighting, and that's how people are shown to have any worth in the universe. Despite the fact that Gohan as an adult I think is pretty financially successful.
