If it hasn't been brought up yet: Steven Universe aired on Cartoon Network as it was being created so it didn't air one week at a time like most TV show.
A series of like 6 episodes at a time would be aired in what became known as Steven Bombs. After those episodes would air, Steven Universe would go off the air for an undeterminable amount of time until they made new episodes.
It was at times frustrating, especially later on when the story really started to get good and some of the Steven Bombs were just filler episodes.

New sub and just got caught up. A few things (non spoiler I promise)
1) You'll have to make the switch to HBO Max for the final season of SU, the movie and Steven Universe Future, Hulu never got the rights to it.
2) This was the mid-season finale, so you're pretty much on point. This is the episode people talk about being the turning point of the show.
3) Corruption =/= Cracked. You'll notice none of the gems they bubble are cracked. You'll see what corruption is.

Remember all the gems they have are from earth still. Not from other planets. Every gem they have captured was contained to protect humans until they can figure out a way to heal them
