Let's talk about reboots

I just saw the trailer in the CG movie The lion king ( amazing, I love it!) but I do not understand how to place it. It is not a live action for me...because the characters are not real, both the characters and the sets are in CG. So what is it? A "reboot"? It seems to me a sort of reboot made with a different style, and I really like it. I can not say it's a live action, because there's nothing alive. LOL

Did you heard that there will be a reboot of Shrek? "According to Variety, Universal Pictures is working on rebooting the Shrek franchise, including new versions of both Shrek and Puss in Boots."

I have not seen the animated series of She-Ra yet, but is that also a reboot? Or is a totally new series?

The reboots of Sailor Moon Crystal and Fullmetal Alchemist were very popular, they are more similar to the manga, but basically the story is the same.

I'm happy because at the beginning I was afraid to do a reboot of PBB, but now I realize that it is something they do in many and that all in all keeps the fanbase fond of the series curious and interested to see the differences and the improve.

Personally, if this The Lion King will be practically identical, but with the difference of the CG technique, I will still be enthusiastic because it is my favorite Disney movie ever! I can't wait to see it! :)

About the upcoming Lion King: I consider that more of a “retelling” since it looks to be like the Original Lion King, but in CGI. I don’t consider it a live action movie unless you tell me there are actual humans in this version. XD About Shrek: I heard about that when Universal bought Dreamworks Animation from….well Dreamworks. Lol Will it be good, I don’t think so. Mostly because the films were going downhill when Shrek 3 came out (but that’s my personal opinion). @_@ I’ve seen clips of the new She-Ra show, and that seems to be a reboot. :o I never watched She-Ra so I wouldn’t know, but it looks interesting. I’ve heard about that. :) I also know the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure series is really popular now, because of the reboot. HOWEVER! The reboot is only successful because the creator is supervising the TV series. ^_^ The 90’s and the early 2000’s (AND the bad 2007 movie) were kind of bastard versions of the stories, and fans weren’t the happiest with (in retrospect). But now, it’s one of the BIGGEST anime series of all time, and I’m happy about that. ^-^ Remember to make a good reboot can be good, if the original creator has control of how the story will play out. ^_^ They need this key ingredient because it can tank a reboot. :o Example: the 1990’s version of Captain America was not made by Marvel (it was made mostly by Jadran Film & 21st Century Film Corperation) and it totally sucked. The 2011 version of Captian America was great because Marvel had total control of the movie. :) However…a reboot can go wrong too (without having the original creator having control of the project). @_@ Look at the 2015 Fantastic Four film. Not only was it bad, but it made the 2004 & 2007 versions of Fantastic Four look good. x_x That’s saying something, but again that’s because Fox didn’t want Marvel (the original owners) to have the license of that franchise, so they maid a crappy reboot that flopped REALLY hard. Anyway~ that’s my thoughts about the reboots coming up (and reboots in general). :D I know for a fact that your reboot of PBB will be fantastic, Vanessa! ^o^

I'm very excited for the new Lion King reboot. I've always been a big fan of the franchise.

The minions are brilliant XD But I believe everyone are milking fairy tales and princesses: Ever after high, Descendants, Disney princess in Ralph breaks the internet, Disenchantment... Princesses and fairy tales everywhere! Because princesses and fairy tales are notorious and are freeuse ;)

The suits over at Illumination bought out DreamWorks animation and decided to milk Shrek alllllllll over again. Well, be prepared to see some sort of minions steal the spotlight.
