Vanessa hunting for references at the mall...

When I go to the mall, my main purpose is to photograph all the references that can be used for my art and inspiration.

My shopping is of photos.

I do not know if is the samefor yu but in the Italian shops are very cared about the fashion showcases.

Especially in men's shops the showcases are themed for gentleman, very classic, vintage, stylish. It is like a set of scenography and props, a lot of original vintage props!

Typewriters, old telephones, antique radios, gramophone turntables! I do not have to go to a museum to find references for my comic book!

Also...it is better than search references on Internet...because you can see with your eyes all the details in every direction and even touch the props if you ask kindly .

It happened to me for the suitcase.

William's old suitcase (from PBB legacy) was ugly ... and always different. because I have not seen well from the photos on the internet how the locks worked.

When I saw a REAL 1890 suitcase at the mall... I asked kindly at the salesman if I could touch it and see how it worked.

Sometime I am really shameless XD  All this for you!

To tell you how much I care of this reboot and I want to refine it .

You will find in the attachment the video of me that I'm "harassing" William's ancient suitcase XD ! So exciting and satisfying, mmh... I want one !! XD But I do not think they will give it to me ...

You are definitely right! I try to support myself with Patreon but at the same time to realize a dream. A dream that has been interrupted and ruined. In my opinion ... having a partner who is not a publisher and not one who works in the comics industry, and therefore has no skills ... but that tells you what to do... is harmful. R is not a publisher and is just a comic book fan Marvel, DC and Star Wars fans, he did not even know what the furry was, he does not know any furry artist and he does not read furry comics, he does not know anything about how to create a comic strip, he has no taste, he has no skills, he's just good at making money and always thinking about money. Every day he talked to me about money and he did not care about the PBB story, I would have to work with a real publisher and not with a porn site maker who thinks only about easy money. I consider all of the comics on eadultcomics trash comics. And I felt frustrated to be compared by him to those disposable comics.he treated me at the same level. When I told him that PBB was different and that I deserved more attention and help, to promote and enhance PBB, he said yes ... but then he did not do anything. And I was alone without managing anything. I understood that for him PBB was only The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs, and me a naive to convince and cheat. Being an author with him was a waste. I endured beyond, I wanted to leave the site 3 years ago but I could not do without the small amount that gave me at the end of the month, I was dependent on that little money. But I took courage and said STOP, and I'm living with this patreon money. It was like saying no to an addiction, like the alchool. At first you are disoriented and suffer, but then you pull yourself up and think of the joy of living and of creating something that is finally yours, no longer for a person that is above you without skills in your job. I needed of a real friend into the comic world or of an editor. And PBB was finished so far

Being an artist who has developed a small following of fans, i know how challenging and stressful it can be to keep their attention and keep them coming back for more. But it's important to set up boundaries for how much of your work is for your fans and how much of your work is what you personally enjoy putting out there. When i fist stared out, i completely whored myself and my talent for the sake of gaining popularity, neglecting the opportunity to use my gifts to make a profit leaving me feeling drained and depressed. Nowadays, i have the financial support of two of my most devoted fans to help me through each month. Hopefully in the near future i can get my own patreon up and running so that i'll be able to continue creating the content i want to create while being able to take care of my bills as well as food for myself.

ok! But frankly I was exhausted and frustrated before, when I had a kind of master/boss telling me what to do and what not to do taking advantage of my work. Now I'm happy and I'm having fun correcting my mistakes and making a product to show to everyone. I've never been a fan of the "quick and dirty" method although in some cases it helps, rather I prefer the theory of "finish not perfect". Because I know that my comic will never be perfect, but it will be finished. It will be finished if I continue to be inspired and now I am :) Can you tell me some sample of these other artists that had this problem? I would like to see if they still have supporters or if they have lost their readers.

Just a small piece of advice, while I admire your attention to detail, please don't fall unto the trap I have seen other artists do with their comics. They try to constantly perfect their comics to the point of never finishing them due to a combination of exhaustion & frustration.
