The thing about Steven Universe is yeah, the pacing is rough, but it's still pleasant as you go. Some shows are as dull as paint while you wait for stuff to start.

2022-07-22 05:56:46 +0000 UTCI'll disagree with everyone here a tiny bit, season one is all set up, it does a lot of heavy lifting and background work for stuff that doesn't pay off till season 2 and 3. The really crap part is the boys are mid owl house hype, and post gravity falls finale hype, this show gets there in spades but it just needs the time to get there. But I will agree if they can squeeze 2 episodes in it'll be a bit better at least until season 2 then if they want to go back to an episode a week I'd be totally down.

I left it until S2 had started before I went back and caught up, due to the way people were talking about it. S1 really is slow. I don't think that's a fatal flaw or anything, but that's the way it is. As things go on, and as S2 gets rolling, the reason people were recommending this as heavily as TOH after Gravity Falls will become way more apparent.

2022-07-20 20:29:24 +0000 UTCI get their discussion in the front. I had a real hard time with this compared to Owl House or Gravity Falls. Or even Steven Universe season 1 which is honestly way worse paced but held me more for some reason.
