You mentioned airbenders' ability to manipulate oxygen, and you might be on to something. If you remember the 3rd episode in book 1, Monk Gyatso's corpse is wearing relatively unscathed robes while surrounded by fire nation soldiers. There's a popular theory that he vacuumed the oxygen from the room, suffocating all of the fire nation soldiers as well as himself.

2022-12-09 00:15:45 +0000 UTCthe invasion actually was a midseason finale. i watched these episodes as they originally aired many years back, and after the invasion, there was an entire year before the show came back. the wait was agonizing as an 8 year old child. i actually went over to a friends house down the street during the finale one saturday morning and watched it with a friend.
