To be fair, using both the idea of alternate universes (or alternate dimension in Doctor Strange) AND alternate timelines interchangeably confused a lot of people. When you hear timeline, you think time travel and not interdimensional travel. Even the Sacred Timeline explanation is iffy; it's not ONE single timeline, but a strand of multiple timelines deemed acceptable and manageable by the TVA. This is unadulterated sci-fi juiciness and I hope you don't get too put off because the confusion is part of the trip.

she dont understand it, because she focusing on timeline 1st and thats wrong. she need to know there are paralel universes next to each other. so our universe is normal loki, second universe can be all normal ppl are hulks and hulks are normal ppl. 3rd universe can be all ppl are animals etc..... and THAN time CONNECT all these universes

There is ONE sacred timeline, along that timeline specific events are supposed to happen but if a variant changes it so that specific outcome isn't going to happen then a nexus event happens. For Example: Imagine this female Loki does everything our Loki does, So the attack on New York, causes her mother to die, so and so forth, but then she does something that causes that event not to happen and completely changes the future going forth then a Nexus Event is caused and she becomes a variant. I would also like to note these changes could be small changes too but would eventually become bigger and bigger the longer they are left unfixed. They kind of use the same concept in Doctor Who, fixed points in time that are supposed to happen and cannot be changed.

I agree that Holden explaining to Jen is not helping 😂 😝 A variant is the same character from a different timeline, but they may be different genders or ages, or species or look different or look the same (same actor) but in that timeline, this is who Loki is for that universe and they will act/think just about the same and have the same traits and characteristics for the most part along with very similar power set.

It's not easy to explain this concept. I'm sure you will break it down for her HH, but just in case, I'll give it a try. Jen...imagine that in each reality, that specific timeline has played out differently than all the others. The Loki we know had 2 certain birth parents, was then adopted by Oden, and through his life experiences has ended up with the current appearance we recognize as Loki. In other timelines, his mother could have looked different due to having a different past, same with his father and so on...In one timeline, the parents birthed a daughter instead of a son, giving us the one that we just saw in Ep 2. So whether the variant Lokis, or Lokis from other timelines, look somewhat like him (Tom Hiddleston's face but different features) or if they have the appearance of a completely different person (the female), they are still Loki. It's kind of like if I, in another universe, hadn't taken certain advice on my career path and stuck to my own plan, life would have played out differently...I would probably look very different than I do now and so on. I hope this helps!

holden YOU may need to rewatch yourself lol, the variants they showed they already captured, one of them you see again in the void, when it comes to Sylvie it was basically just Loki born with an X chromosome instead of a Y, same parents biological and adoptive, same circumstances that led to adoption, just with an X chromosome instead of a Y
