My Friend Watches continuation...

Hey everyone! I'll go ahead and let you know where we're at with MFW these next 2 weeks...We're going to have Matt watch The Mandalorian season 2. It'll be in 2 parts, episodes 1-4 and episodes 5-8.

After that, we'll be ready to get into whatever series you'd like us to check out. I wouldn't mind doing a few one-offs in the mean time. Something like Knives out or Get Out. Those used to be requested a lot but have died down since the MCU days.

So, let me know of any one offs you'd like, as well as series suggestions. I'll wait to get some responses and do a poll for our next series!

New Planet of Apes trilogy, curious how Matt likes em considering their messages and his healthcare / behavioral mental health interests

ShotaBoyLover

The Fly (1986)

Tell It Animated

I think Matt actually did one on his channel. I know Pastor has been doing them too

Knives out and Get out would be great one off watches. Others I'd love for you guys to watch would be - The Nice Guys, 12 Angry Men, Shutter Island, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Hateful Eight and Wind River.

As usual I recommend Eighth Grade, but apart from that maybe some comedy for a change, like Naked Gun?

u_mike

How about Back to the Future? Only thing is Matt needs to know it is supposed to be a bit whacky and a bit silly, without ever explaining everything... Even if he did see it already, it's a good trilogy to rewatch and let us know how rewatching stuff may change his initial experience and original review... Or maybe Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure? You know... Classic stuff.

SOUL, new Pixar film on Disney + highly recommended! It’s so deep it will melt Matt’s brain, no joke.

Batamus

Oh dude SOUL would be an epic experience specially for Matt!

Batamus

Knives Out is a great idea, such a fun film with lots of attention to detail and clever little things hidden away.

Andy Cormack

The Rocketeer. Your friend needs to show you Rocketeer. But also, a wonderfully chaotic and uneven franchise with a sequel coming this year is the Fast & Furious franchise. If you start soon, you can see all 8 movies (and the Hobbs & Shaw Spin-off) in time for movie number 9! It won't be deep, but it sure will be entertaining! (And the evolution of those movies, to see how fantastically easy it is to "date" them, is possibly interesting?

Marius Speider Sørum Moe

Knives out would be great

Matthew Juttner

And definitely Avatar The Last Airbender!

Lucile R.

Unbreakable, Split and Glass!

Daniel Francisco

Sorry if you've said he's seen some of these already, but: Edward Scissorhands Catch Me If You Can The Goonies The Prestige The Illusionist Schindler's List Fight Club Forrest Gump Braveheart American Beauty

Has Matt seen the Terminator franchise? That one could be fun. Would also give Matt an opportunity for some Schwarzenegger workout videos.

I'd love to see him react to Bohemian Rhapsody or Rocketman! He's seen Inception, right? How about Tenet or Interstellar?

The Last Samurai

Series: Last Airbender + Korra, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Cobra Kai, DC Animated Show Universe, One Off: Dazed and Confused, This is Spinal Tap, Fast and Furious 1, Justice League New Frontier

Alex Painter

Firefly

Matthew Cutter

One off: The Karate Kid

Deadpool

Musicals like mentioned above are good. Avatar the Last Airbender has some good BGJ moments later in the seasons. Clone Wars? Naw ... that's too long for him. lol. Maybe you can do a "My Best Friend Makes Me Watch ... " series where Matt makes you watch something he likes that you haven't seen?

Mark Moran

The Prestige, The Goonies, or if he hasn’t seen Toy Story I think that would be the best animated film for him to try out

Ashtn

DCEU. If you do one a week staring soon you can do them all just before Snyder cut comes out. its less than 3 months away

Deadpool

Another idea is Matt could watch all the Pixar movies and then maybe y’all can watch The Pixar Theory video which theorizes that all the Pixar movies are tied together and share the same universe, like the MCU.

Philip Toscano

I still need that Hamilton reaction! I feel like he'll have a lot to say about it and he might enjoy it :D

Manuel Enrico Sison

I’d love to see Matt’s reaction to Game of Thrones if he hasn’t seen it yet. The Grand Budapest Hotel or any other Wes Anderson movie would be great.

Philip Toscano

Mr. Robot! So many crazy twists in that show.

Definitely do Knives Out it’s a great movie and I think Matt would love it

Kyle Shoe

Yes! Both knives out and get out please!

Batamus

Karate Kid series and Cobra Kai!

Fight Club, The Prestige, The Godfather??

Ben Dwyer

The Rocketeer please. I believe you'll enjoy it. (I know you haven't seen it but Matt has so a role reversal video?)

Mark McKeever

As a one off I think Baby driver would be an amazing film to watch as it’s one of my favourites. And I think a good series to watch would be the Karate Kid series. It’s got some good messages and overall just a classic film series. Plus there’s cobra Kai to watch now as well which is a great tv show.

Sky High, Footloose, Taken

Shubham Bhardwaj

Knowing how Matt feels about musicals, The Greatest Showman! I.know of musical haters that loves this movie.

We actually did 1917 a while back if you want to check it out! https://youtu.be/OHGlfdBNB0A

Holden Hardman

tennet

brad fedick

Jeepers Creepers or Batman: Mask of The Phantasm

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Quinten Shibusawa

I think maybe a Pixar film would be awesome. Maybe soul, or big hero 6? I think something animated would be a nice change of pace!

Carter Rowe

New Mutants 👍

Matt Cook

Indiana Jones too

Tyrone Edwards

Guilty pleasure movies like The Forevers, Troll 2 (there's no Troll 1, the title was only called that for marketing), Tough Guys Don't Dance, Samurai Cop, Birdemic, and The Apple (1980)

American pie films for change of pace?

Tyrone Edwards

One Off: HAMILTON, Perks of Being a Wallflower Edit: Series: Violet Evergarden, ATLA

bing bong
