February Release Update (4)

Before I get to the update, to all my new and returning members, my deep and sincere thanks.

This has been a stellar month, one I hope to continue by pushing out chapter after chapter for your enjoyment.

Your collective support and engagement has genuinely kept me going and has really been a pillar in justifying my decision to write.

So once again, my gratitude to all of you!

Update:

The promised chapters of IoTV! and Witch Weekly have all been uploaded.

As of this week, however, I'm changing the schedule.

Rather than providing a dump of chapters over 2ish days, I will instead now upload a chapter as soon as I finish it.

At bare minimum I will have 4 chapters of IoTV! out every week, with potentially 1 or 2 more chapters on top of that as my speed allows.

I will then at the end of every week, on Sunday, provide a summary of all published chapters that week. This way no one is sat waiting for weekly chapters and can instead be guaranteed to have something new to read at least every other day.

CHAPTER 14 IS ALREADY UP!

XOxo

Most people are procrastinators :). Hence, to quote South Park: Di-sci-prin. I'd encourage the Stephen King method, where you'd dedicate an hour or two each 'Writing Day' to simply sit down and write. Get into the habit of doing so. Keep doing it until it becomes habit. I feel like the pros of doing so - a regulated release schedule your audience can more easily follow, a buffer for breaks / vacations/ illnesses / emergencies, a buffer so you can go back and edit before an 'official' release and a buffer so you can experiment with other stories without sacrifing your primary money earner holds too many benefits to simply ignore.

I'm a serial procrastinator which is why I'm doing it this way. This new schedule encourages me to write 1000-2000 words a day on a steady timetable rather than scrambling to write 5k+ words in a day like i had to over the last couple of weeks. The releases will be more uniform going forward. Plus given the rolling nature of my subscription model, I felt that members would get the best bang for their buck this way too.

Only you can determine the balance between keeping yourself happy, keeping your audience happy and keeping invested enough in your work to avoid burnout. That said, I'd recommend still considering a uniform release schedule - even if it's something like every other day or Once/Day Monday - Thursday - if only to help foster either audience anticipation and/or self-discipline.
