going off of Maka's comment, the information the jujutsu world has regarding geto is currently: gojo killed geto back in tokyo. geto is fully pronounced dead. information we the audience has regarding geto is currently: gojo killed geto back in tokyo. geto is now in action with stitches on his forehead. the jujustu world is not aware that he is in action and geto wishes to keep it that way for reasons we do not currently know. his M.O. has also changed: friendly reminder that geto HATES curses and wants to eradicate them from the world. presently we see him working together with said curses(/cursed spirits) whose goals are a world ruled by curses. all just food for thought, i hope laying out the facts on their own without too much interference helps move your thoughts forward regarding geto and what he has going on. the only hint i want to give (if the moderator will allow it) is that you could stand to be a bitttt suspicious anyway i can’t overstate how excited i am for the rest of this season!!! the tension/apprehension/atmosphere feels so tangible, this season truly outdoes itself

2024-10-16 06:51:40 +0000 UTCjust some random details about this episode :) it kept flashing to miwa during mechamaru vs mahito because she is a user of the new shadow style, aka simple domain. he learned it from watching her, and he’s maybe in love with her so he’s constantly thinking about wanting to be with her in his real body. finally i know it isn’t clear but mahito killed mechamaru, that’s why him and geto were casually walking away from the fight and we see his ultimate mechamaru out of commission. the teams of people outside the veil might seem random, but it’s because of what todo and mei did last episode. recommending the tokyo jujutsu high students to become first grade sorcerers mean they have to do missions accompanied by a first grade sorcerer, hence why everyone is split up with all these newer characters. ino has appeared before briefly, in season 1 during the first mahito fight he was in the sewers with nanami, and he was in the movie for a bit fighting the curses geto released. naobito zenin we’ve also seen once in a maki flashback, he’s the head of the zenin clan. the veils are going to be really complicated and i’m not going to lie the season is packed with information, but it’s ok to be confused even after rewatching this many times i still have to pause and think about how everything is working, the time stamps are sort of important but i think it’s fine to not pay that much attention to them because most of the action is happening at the same time just in different places with the various teams sorry for the long comment, excited for the upcoming eps!!

2024-10-15 14:08:58 +0000 UTCI'm happy that you were blown away by the animation in this episode, and animators should receive all the ovations for their work! However, there were a lot of controversies because of extremely tight deadlines and work poor compensation, especially during season 2 airing. As an example - you mentioned that you wouldn't be surprised if this 30 sec fight scene with Mahito would have taken 6 months to animate. Unfortunately, for a reference, for JJK 0 animators were given just 4 months to finish the full 1.5 hours movie requiring the best quality of course. And when it comes to the season 2, I remember that the animator community was very loud, especially during the second part of the season, when they even said that they are not sure, if they will be able to finish this season. For some episodes they managed to make only 30% of the vision they had because of the deadlines. You can notice it in the later episodes by the increased number of still shots, when nothing much happens on the screen and there is just a narration. But even with that - animation is still amazing, and so are the animators. And unfortunately it's not just MAPPA but the whole industry. P.S. watching these episodes while staying in my hotel in Shibuya, while I'm traveling in Japan is some kind of inception) And there is a huge banner outside of the station entrance saying "No events for Halloween on Shibuya streets" :)

2024-10-15 01:44:03 +0000 UTCFun fact: The animators of this episode paid homage to several classic Mecha animes by directly recreating scenes from them during the ultimate mechamaru fight. I know for sure there’s some Gurren Lagann and Gundam shots, and I believe some Evangelion shots as well. I’m honestly not a huge Mecha anime fan myself other than Eighty Six, but I think it’s really cool that the artists made so many callbacks to these older, foundational animes.

2024-10-15 00:43:57 +0000 UTCAs to what's going down here - reaching way back to season 1, in the diner scene where we first met Geto and the special-grade curses, as well as later in their little beach hangout: Geto and the curses have been preparing and planning for this day. October 31st in Shibuya. And like Geto told Jogo, none of them are powerful enough to kill Gojo, so Geto's plan is to use a cursed object called the Prison Realm to attempt to "seal" Gojo away. The events unfolding at the end of this episode are what Geto has been yapping for since the first scene we met him 🙂

2024-10-14 20:17:50 +0000 UTCI don’t know if anyone has mentioned it before but are you guys watching Season 2 of JJK on Blue-ray? Bc if you aren’t I highly recommend, if you can, to do so. The animation on the Blue-ray is much better bc sadly, towards the end, when the episodes were first released some of the animation was incomplete. But they were able to finish it and the finished version is on Blue-ray. So if you can, I highly recommend you get that to have a better experience.
